Cleaning Filters | How to Videos | CleanView/PowerClean Vacuums

Your CleanView® vacuum comes with a pre and post motor filter. Both need to be cleaned every few uses. In this video, you’ll learn the easy ways to clean both.

  • First make sure your vacuum is turned OFF and unplugged
  • Press the tank release button on the top of the dirt tank and remove the tank.
  • Open the tank lid by lifting the filter tab and pulling the lid up
  • The foam filter you see at the top of the tank is the pre-motor filter
  • Take it out and hand wash it with warm water and mild detergent, making sure to rise well.
  • Let the filter dry completely before you put it back into the tank’s lid
  • Once dry and back in the tank, put the tank back on the vacuum. Press firmly until you hear a “click”.
  • The pre-motor filter should be replaced every 3-6 months. You can order a new one on BISSELL.com
  • The post-motor filter should also be cleaned every few uses. This filter is on the front of the vacuum right above the height adjustment knob
  • To take the filter out, recline the vacuum and lay it back. Remove the filter door by pushing down on the latch and pulling the door out.
  • Remove the filter by grabbing its tab and pulling it out of the vacuum
  • This filter can’t be washed with water or detergent. Instead just tap the filter gently on the side of a garbage can to remove dust and debris
  • Once clean put the filter back and replace the filter door by lining up the sides of it and sliding it into place until you hear a “click”.
  • This filter should also be replaced every 3-6 months. You can order a new one on BISSELL.com
