No Suction | How to Videos | Pet Hair Eraser® Canister Vacuum

There are a few reasons your Pet Hair Eraser Canister Vacuum is having suction issues. We’ll walk you through the fixes in these videos.
  • First, make sure your vacuum is turned off and unplugged.
  • Dirty filters can cause suction issues.
  • To clean, remove and empty the dirt tank from the canister by pressing the dirt tank release button.
  • Turn the separator counter-clockwise to remove it from the dirt tank and clean it off
  • Reinsert the separator and return the dirt tank lid by turning it clockwise so it clicks into place. Close the lid.
  • Twist the top of the dirt tank counter-clockwise and pull up to remove.
  • Remove the foam and felt filters from the tank lid.
  • Both filters can be rinsed to clean.
  • Make sure to let them dry for 24 hours before replacing.
  • Once dry, replace both filters by making sure the felt filter is inserted first. Then insert the foam filter.
  • Check the small mesh filter and clean if necessary.
  • Push the tabs on the back of the base inward and pull out to remove the back cover.
  • Remove the mesh and pleated filters.
  • These filters can be rinsed to clean, just make sure to let it dry for 24 hours before replacing.
  • Replace the pleated filter. Then make sure all four tabs of the mesh filter are aligned with their slots in the filter cover.
  • Once it’s back in place, reattach the filter cover so it clicks into place.
  • Return the dirt tank to the base, making sure it clicks into place.
  • Next, check your machine for clogs by first disconnecting the hose.
  • Remove the plug on the bottom of the base.
  • Insert a broomstick to clear clogs. Replace the plug
  • Plug your machine back in and turn it on to check for suction at the hose connection.
  • If there’s suction, turn off and connect the hose to the base. Turn it back on and check the opening near the handle for suction.
  • If there’s no suction, the hose is clogged. Attempt to clear debris from both ends of the hose. If you’re unable to clear debris or the hose is damaged, you need to order a replacement on BISSELL.com.
  • Remove extension wand from foot and clear any clogs.
  • Check for clogs in the foot and clear if necessary. Removing the sole plate and brush roll will make it easier to see debris.
  • Once clogs are clear, reassemble your vacuum.
