Low Suction | How to Videos | Symphony™ Vacuum and Steam Mop

If you notice the vacuum portion on your Symphony™ is not picking up as much debris and dirt as it should, there are simple steps you can take to restore full suction:
  • For example, the dirt container may be full
    • In this case empty the dirt container
  • To start, simply move the lock button on the front of the easy empty dirt tank to the left then remove the tank
  • To empty press the bottom lid release button on the back of the dirt tank
  • At this point, you could check for a dirty vacuum filter which can also cause low suction
  • With the dirt tank removed you can then remove the filter cartridge from the dirt separator
  • Next, remove the premotor filter and brush off the debris
  • Then, take the post-motor filter and tap it firmly against the inside of a waste container to remove any visible dirt
    • At this point you can replace the cleaned filter back into the dirt tank or replace it with a new filter available at BISSELL.com
  • Once emptied, mount the easy empty dirt tank back on the Symphony™ base, and push the lock button to the right until it is centered on the front of the unit
  • Low suction can also be caused by improper installation of the dirt container
  • To correct this, reposition the dirt container, and move the lock button to the right until it is in the center of the unit
  • If the foot of the Symphony™ is loose it may cause low suction
  • Make sure the foot is fully inserted into the Symphony™ lowering the unit into the foot until the unit clicks into place
  • Finally low suction may be caused by improper installation of the hose tube
  • To check installation remove the hose tube from the Symphony™ body then reattach the hose to the hose opening of the Symphony™ inserting the lower portion of the hose to the Symphony™
  • At this point full suction should return
