Remove/Replace Belt | How to Videos | PowerForce®/PowerGroom®

Video Transcript:

If you notice a change in the sound or pick-up performance of your vacuum, check for damage to the brush or belt. After unplugging your vacuum, recline the handle and turn the vacuum bottom side up. Using a Philips head screwdriver, remove the six screws and lift off the brush plate. Next, grab the rotating floor brush at both ends, lift it straight out of the vacuum, and slip off the belt.

Clear away strings, hair, and other debris from the brush and drive belt area. You may need to use scissors to cut away wrapped string or hair.
Remove the belt from the motor pulley to check for cuts, stressed areas, and other signs of wear or damage. If you see evidence of wear or tear, it’s time to replace your belt. Go to BISSELL.com to find replacement belts for your model.

To replace the drive belt, place one end of the belt over the motor pulley and stretch the other end over the rotating floor brush in the space between the bristles. Place the ends of the floor brush into the slots, and rotate the brush a few times to center the belt. Reposition the brush plate and screw in the six screws.
