My PurePro® brush is not turning. What should I do?


1. First, make sure the brush switch is turned on. The brush won’t rotate unless both the power and brush buttons are in the “l” position.

2. Next, check if the handle is reclined. The brush won’t rotate if the vacuum is locked in the upright, vertical position.

3. If something was sucked up such as an area rug and got stuck in the brush, the brush may stop rotating if it causes enough resistance. This is a safety feature that eliminates belt breakage.  Turn the vacuum off, unplug the machine, remove the obstruction, and turn the vacuum on, which will reset the machine.

4. Unplug the vacuum and place it on its back so you can access the brush. Try to turn the brush by hand. Recline the unit and roll it over so the backside is facing up. Unscrew the six screws holding in the access plate (a plastic frame over the brush roll, pictured below) and check the brush and belt for damage. Be sure to clean off any debris on the brush. If brush will not turn by hand, you’ll need to replace the brush. You can do so by clicking here:
