No/Low Suction at the Floor
Check to see if the machine is in the upright position. The machine will only have suction at the floor if it is reclined. If the machine is in the upright position, you’ll only have suction through the hose.
Just to be safe, unplug your machine, remove the tank and check for any cracks. Also, check the floor nozzle for cracks, clogs, or missing foam gasket. If any are found, you’ll need to replace the part(s) that are broken. To order the floor nozzle, click on this link:

IS THE TANK SEATED PROPERLY AND IS THE RED GASKET IN PLACE?
Look at the bottom of the Water Tank and make sure it has a red gasket attached and that it is facing outwards. The collar should tighten around the insert, if not push past the gasket and tighten.
A) Check for suction at the Motor Duct (red screen area). If the red Lint Screen is dirty, the unit will have poor suction.
Red screen area should be kept clean and free of debris.

If there is no suction at motor duct:
Please take the machine to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center to have a technician check it.

If there is suction at the motor duct proceed to these next steps:
B) MAKE SURE THE TANK LID IS PROPERLY ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM TANK.
To attach the lid, secure the latches on the sides. You should be able to lift the tank by the carry handle.
C) IS THE TANK PROPERLY SET ONTO THE BASE OF THE UNIT?
1. First, with the tank removed, make sure the knobs that secure the front nozzle are locked sideways at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions.
2. Then, recline the handle and set the tank on the base. If it doesn’t sit securely, retry. The cap & insert need to connect into the inlet on the base.

No Suction at Hose - Has Suction at Floor
- Make sure the machine is securely in the upright position to get suction at the hose.
- Make sure the Water Tank is not full on the outside of the bladder. Empty Tank if necessary and refill the inside of the bladder.
- Check Tank Lid for damage. Any type of break or crack would reduce suction. Tank would need to be replaced if cracked or broken.
