No Suction | How to Videos | Pet Hair Eraser® Lift-Off®

If you find that your vacuum has stopped picking up dirt effectively, there are a couple remedies to try.

  • You may be using the wrong floor type setting for the surface you are trying to clean.
  • Locate the floor type setting on the side of the vacuum
  • Turn the knob to the left for high pile carpet and to the right for bare floors
  • Now, make sure your vacuum is turned off and unplugged
  • Remove the lift-off canister
  • Using a Philips head screw driver, unscrew the 10 screws on the bottom of the base to remove the bottom cover.
  • Pull the roller straight out and slide the belt off the motor gear.
  • Remove the lower hose and remove any clogs with a broom.
  • You should now inspect the brush roll by placing it on its end and letting it spin. The brush roll should spin freely, multiple times with one flick. If it doesn’t, the brush roll should be replaced.  Check the belt for any damage and replace if needed
  • To place the belt back on the brush roll, pinch the belt around the brush and hook back around the motor gear.
  • Next, rotate the brush roll into place and line up the end caps
  • Now you may re-attach the cover with the 10 screws.
  • The filters may be dirty. Remove and rinse the pre-motor filter and allow enough time to dry before properly reinserting. Remove the post motor filter and tap out over a trash bin then place back in your vacuum
  • There may be a clog in the hose.
  • Remove hose and disconnect extension wand.  Use a broom to remove any clogs in both the hose and the extension wand.
  • Now check the for any clogs on the bottom of the canister, and where the hose connects on both ends.
  • Next, plug in and turn on.  Check for suction at the center gasket on the base of the vac.  If no suction take vacuum to a service center.
  • If there is suction reattach hose securely.   Then lock dirt tank into place, and reattach whole lift-off canister back on the base making sure it clicks into place

We hope you found these tips useful and your vacuum is now working properly again!
