While making mom feel special this year will be extra challenging given the current environment, it’ll be worth it if you’re able to pull it off. We’ve got a few tips and tricks to help!

At BISSELL®, we practice “spring cleaning” year-round, but we do up our game a little every year when the actual season arrives. After all these years, we’ve realized something important: not everyone has the same excitement that we do when it comes to spring cleaning. That’s why we created an easy-to-follow 20-day spring cleaning guide.

Spring Break is a much-anticipated time of year for all ages – kids look forward to it pretty much all year, and we know parents do, too! It doesn’t matter how excited you are for the trip; we know packing up your family and leaving for a week can be stressful. Regardless of if you’re hopping on a plane, loading up the car or kicking back on a train (or a combination of all of these!), each mode of transportation can come with its own set of stressors. While it would be easy for us to just tell you not to stress about the trip, we know that’s not a really helpful approach. What is helpful is setting you up for success before, during and after your trip, so let’s get to it.

When it comes to stain removers, and the best way to go about removing stains, the list is pretty much endless. Grape juice, pet accidents, motor oil, mud; we could go on and on. That means that how to get a stain out is a tough question to answer. We get asked all the time how to remove stains, what is the best stain remover for carpet, or how to remove set-in stains, and we usually start with the question: Do you have any idea what kind of stain it is? If not, that’s fine. We can help with that too. But there are also some common messes we think everyone should know how to clean up, so we’re sharing tips on how to get a stain out for three pretty popular messes.

Raise your hand if you have a busy schedule during the week. That’s what we thought. You can put your hand down now. How many times have you found yourself vowing to create, and stick to, some sort of weekly house cleaning schedule? We’ve been there too. A weekly cleaning schedule is a lot like a New Year’s Resolution. It sounds great during the cold winter months, and it actually works well for the first few weeks, but come the fourth or fifth week you may start to find yourself lagging. We got sick of feeling like our house cleaning schedules were a failure, so we put together the ultimate cleaning routine to help keep our spaces sparkling clean every day of the week.

It’s easy to get into a routine of cleaning the same areas over and over again. And certain common spaces, like the front hall, kitchen, and living room, should be regularly cleaned. However, if you are spring cleaning and looking to focus on more specific “once-a-year” type areas, do not skip over these must clean spaces.

Area rugs are the perfect way to add warmth to a living space without the hassle of wall-to-wall carpet. But just like everything else in high-traffic areas of your home, they can take quite a beating and become dirtier than you might think. Follow these tips and tricks to help rugs stay fresh and clean instead of old and dingy:

Let’s face it: Housecleaning for most can feel like a necessary evil. But here’s the thing—it doesn’t have to be an all-day Saturday affair. In fact, you can get your home looking clean in 20 minutes flat if you’re smart about it. Use this list to tackle your space quickly so you can get back to more exciting things (like Netflix and snacks).

Springtime marks that special time of year when most of us finally come out of hibernation mode. With this metamorphosis, though, comes the slightly horrific realization that our homes are covered in a fine layer of dust, dried winter slush and cookie crumbs. Plus, the hallway closet is probably overflowing with remnant holiday gifts (some from two years ago), and you’re positive that your pet has already shed every single hair from their winter coat. If the task of spring cleaning just jumped above “arrange anniversary dinner” on your to-do list, we’ve pulled together our top tips to help you take back your home from winter’s grimy grip!

Got a passion for helping homeless pets but don’t know how to get involved? It’s easier than you might think to help homeless animals, and it doesn’t always require picking up puppy poo or changing a kitty’s litter box! As we head into the tail end of the year, here are five ways you can make a difference in the lives of shelter animals – some of which don’t even require you to spend money or get up from your computer.

Just like the superheroes in comic books, real-life heroes have many guises. Some of these heroes come in human form and keep their capes hidden, instead donning police or firefighting gear, soldiers’ uniforms and other garb. But the animal world also has its share of courageous heroes that come in all sizes, shapes and breeds.

Many of us are eager to do our part to support positive change in this country, but we don’t always know how to begin. Pet overpopulation is a significant problem in the U.S., and while we’re seeing an increase in the number of pets adopted from shelters and rescues, we still euthanize approximately four million adoptable dogs and cats each year simply because of overpopulation.
