Why pets? It’s our love for pets that drives us to design products that help make pet messes, odors and pet homelessness disappear. BISSELL proudly supports BISSELL Pet Foundation® and its mission to help save pets in need.
As we prepare for the upcoming holidays, we can’t help but look back and reflect on our most memorable. Why? Because we know this holiday will be unlike any we’ve ever known. But when we look to find some commonality, we recognize all of the wonderful years past shared something in common: some sort of mishap or mess! Like the year the Christmas tree fell not once, but twice, into the middle of the living room. Or that time the cat swatted and broke every single ornament hanging on the bottom level of the tree…
Our favorite month of the year is here! There are so many things we love about October, but hands down the best part is that it’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Adopting pets from shelters is something we at BISSELL and our friends at BISSELL Pet Foundation® (BPF) are passionate about.
Whether you call them mutts, mixed breeds, Heinz 57s or some other moniker, who doesn’t love a canine cocktail? It’s no wonder that we have a special day to celebrate them: National Mutt Day, which falls on July 31 this year.
To say a lot of life happens on our floors doesn’t really begin to tell the story of how much our floors witness over the course of our lives. They are the foundation of our homes and the bedrock of our safe space. They get to see so many cute things, like babies learning to crawl and take their first steps, snoozing pups and playful kittens. They also get to see the not-so-cute things, like drool, shedding, mud, spills, accidents, and so much more. All of those memorable and not-so-memorable moments on our floors are exactly the reasons why keeping them clean is so important.
This may not be easy for you to hear, because it definitely wasn’t easy for us to write – deep cleaning in 2020 looks a little different than what you learned from mom all those years ago. Don’t get us wrong, we are in no way saying mom was mistaken. Her tried and true ‘deep clean every 6 months’ rule remains, but as people’s cleaning needs and routines continue to change, so do the cleaning ‘rules’.
At BISSELL, pets are part of the family. One furry family member that is familiar to a lot of Associates here at BISSELL Headquarters is Poppy, a three-year-old Mountain Cur Husky Mix. Her mom, Kaitlyn, works as a Graphic Designer at BISSELL and takes advantage of our pet-friendly workplace policy. This policy allows Kaitlyn, and all Associates, to bring their dogs to work every day.
When COVID-19 hit the United States, it changed the way we all lived. And not just for humans – shelter pets across the country quickly started to feel the effects, too. We are so proud of our friends at BISSELL Pet Foundation® (BPF) and how quickly they adjusted some of their biggest lifesaving initiatives to comply with social distancing guidelines and stay at home orders.
It’s hard to tell who benefits more from the pet-friendly workplace policy at BISSELL, our pets or us. There are so many benefits for humans when it comes to having pets in the office, but if you asked BISSELL Associate Carolyn, she’d argue a lot of pets benefit more than their humans.
Pets are good for kids in so many ways. They encourage physical activity through play and walks and they help kids learn empathy and practice their interactions with others. Here’s how to bring a pet into the family in a safe way for everyone.
Loving on a new pup is mandatory, sure, but it’s also important to provide him with a structured environment from day one. Setting clear expectations is key to successfully integrating any dog into your family. Here are nine tips to set him up for success.
Our pets are our best friends, there’s no doubt about that. There’s nothing like having a pet by our side, especially during the challenging times we’re in. We know pets have a positive impact on humans in times of stress, and scientists have actually linked the release of oxytocin to human interactions with dogs.
One Associate who takes advantage of the pet perk is Gene, who works as an analyst and brings Maggie, his English Black Lab, to work with him often.
