The White Sock Test 2011 - Winner Announced!

Your socks know how much dirt is lurking in your carpet. Do you?

Participants took the White Sock Test by wetting a cleaning white sock and rubbing it in a high traffic area of their carpet for 30 seconds. After taking a look and posting a photo of the sock on Facebook, contestants earned chances at instant prizes and were entered for a chance to win a $15,000 home makeover. Those dirty socks showed that vacuuming alone isn't enough to get all the dirt out of carpet, which is why it's so important to use a deep cleaner on carpet at least twice per year.

Amanda P., winner of the $15,000 home makeover, said she is going to use some of the prize money to update her bathroom and plans to save the rest.
