I was looking for a vacuum to take care of pet hair, and after using it once, I was very happy. It picks up pet hair easily as well as dirt you didn't even know was in your carpet. The scented filter was a great bonus. It leaves the whole room smelling fresh and clean.
Great job Bissell!

Wow is all I can say, Just got it today, vacuumed the whole house and I am pretty much speechless. This vacuum is amazing! I could not believe how much it picked up. I'm only 21 and me and my friends though it was super cool the way everything worked out. I have 2 cats and there isn't a hair on our carpet because of this vacuum. It seriously exceeded my exceptions, I would recommend it even for those that don't have pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Smith This product has great features
I recently purchased this Bissel vaccum cleaner and have used it a couple of times. It is the greatest. I've had several other vaccum cleaners in the past, but am sold on Bissel. It picks up the pet hair without any problems. Also noteworthy is the febreze filters, which leaves a great smell, unlike the old vaccum cleaners causing a terrible odor. I just hope the vaccum continues to provide the great service to my carpets.

I've only had this vacuum for 3 months and the belt broke. of course I didn't keep the receipt :( shame on me. I'm having a hard time getting a replacement belt. Even on Bissell website the belt is out of stock!!!!!
I have gone to 15 diffent stores and vacuum retailers and can't find a belt.

I was totally amazed by the dirt and cat hair this picked up. I think I can actually make another 2 or 3 cats out of the hair :)
Very easy and light to use, and the long cord allows me to do a couple of rooms at a time instead of just one. Very easy to take apart and clean also.
The Febreeze filter gives a nice fresh and clean smell throughout the house when I vacuum.
Would highly recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mom23 Belt melted with first use
Bought this today and after assembling it started to vacuum. The belt that turns the brush started to melt and quit working. After 5 minutes of use I had to take the housing apart at the bottom to see the too-loose belt had melted in one spot. I returned this vacuum and am wary of ever buying another Bissell.
(This was my first Bissell purchse.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by leaton Belts are horrible
I bought this product, and when it runs it works great. However, after the first belt broke, it has become a habit with this vacuum. We've replaced the belt 2 times now and it is never right. Now the belt isn't broken, but it doesn't turn the Vacuum part. Since there is NO instructions or a size of the belt that is indicated for this machine we are guessing on that. But we got one to work, and now it doesn't. I was VERY disappointed because this worked well, when the belt works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by brandonb Better than Dyson
We just purchased a new house a couple months ago. We had been using an old outdated vacuum and decided it was time for a new one. We have a dog who is constantly shedding. Her hair covers all types of surfaces of our house.
I first used this vacuum in our upstairs which is carpet. I was amazed at how much hair and other debris was picked up. There was a large amount of drywall dust that had been in the carpet since drywallers had finished months ago.
I then moved to our main level which is hardwood. I loved the feature of being able to turn off the brushes. It prevents dirt and debris from being flung all over. It also helps to prevent damage to our hardwood floors.
Last was out downstairs which is all tile work and again it worked beautifully on this surface. I also used the pet turbo brush on the furniture and stairs. This tool has a world of power and lifts pet hair with ease.
My in-laws have a Dyson Animal vac and I don't think it has the pickup power that this vacuum has. The fabreeze filter also leaves the house smelling wonderful
I would recommend this vacuum to anyone that is looking for a high powered vacuum and wants something to tame the mess pets leave in their homes. You can not beat the price of this as it is far less than most comparable vacuums and outperforms the competition.

Best vacuum i have ever owned!!!! I could not believe how much dirt it picked up that my old vacuum was leaving behind. Especially like the brush on/off feature because a majority of my house is hardwood floors. I used to have to use two different vacuums, Now i don't so takes half the time. I also have a long haired shih-tzu and it picks up every last hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Clell Is it wrong to love a vacuum?
Love this machine. Easy to use, a nice long cord, a wonderfully long hose, the edger attachment is an amazing option, and boy howdy does it suck stuff out of the carpets. We've got a collie who seems to shed a third of her body weight every day. This would clog our previous vacuum in very short order. This one is fantastic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sharon Good suction when hose isn't clogged
Love this vacuum because it picks up the dog and cat hair easily. I have had it for about a month. After about 4 or 5 uses the hose did clog up. I did not know this until I vacuumed a whole room and checked the container. There was nothing in the container. I was about to pack it up and take it away until I checked the hose. Checking the hose and cleaning it out brought the suction back. I proceeded to clean the entire house and I am amazed at the dirt that was sucked up. I have one long-haired dog and one cat. I only hope that the hose clogging does not become an ongoing problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by cal55 I am very disappointed in this product.
This is the messiest vacuum I've ever used in my life. I spend more time cleaning up after it than cleaning with it! It does a great job picking up pet hair, however it turns the dirt into a fine dust which goes everywhere. The pet hair goes up into the top cilander instead of in the bottom container so it is a total mess to clean up.

It's a vacuum, it sucks up just like the rest. You turn it on, you push it around and it sucks up dirt and hair. You have to bend over repeatedly to take the hose off to suck up hard to reach places. And good luck because you're going to need to put on an extension and waste more time. You turn it on, move it around, suck up dirt then shut if off again. It needs to be sealed better too, I need to dust mine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Clean Lady Best Vacuum for my price range
Instructions: Need serious help, as one of the previous reviews stated. The assembly SHOULD be really simple. If there were clear instructions assembly would be a breeze. But like the last review I struggled even knowing which part was supposed to be which. I looked in the description of the parts, the diagram pointing to which was which and still couldn't find what I was looking for. The pictures are too dark for me to tell what I'm supposed to be looking at.
Compared to others: When looking for a new vacuum I needed it to be better with pet hair. The last vacuum, Bissell Powerforce Turbo, bagless, worked well but the pet hair got caught every time I tried to remove the tank to dump it. I believe the part is the inner cyclone assembly. The hair would get caught between the edge of the cyclone assembly and the outer portion of the vacuum. This new vacuum has a larger width between the two and I haven't had any hair clumping. I went through the store and felt around and it appeared to be the best vacuum for that problem.
I like that this one can shut off the rotating brush and that I don't have to bend over to do it.
The last vacuum, and most of them in the store - especially Bissell, appears to have redesigned their dirt container. I like that this one has a filter below the container and not basically part of the container. I didn't have a problem twisting off the container to get to the filter with the last vacuum. A lot of the newer models look like they redesigned it to make it easier to get to which looks like a horrible idea. If I remove the tank that filter is now exposed, as is all of the dust and pet hair. Not to mention they don't appear to be sealed well. This vacuum is better because I simply won't have that problem and the filter is built in below. it still needs to be sealed better as I'm allergic to dust. I'm allergic to many things and highly sensitive. (So this febreze filter needs to go)
As far as the hose and attachments. When I remove the hose to quickly suck something up out of reach I now have to stop and grab the extension handle. The hose wand base is so far down that I didn't realize how annoying it would be to bend down repeatedly so low. For people with bad backs (me) this is an issue. My last vacuum had a good foot of handle without an extension. The specialty tool is going to be used less frequently than the extension so maybe it shouldn't be placed towards the front and in the way of the extension. Also, in order to reach anything without using the extension I need to remove more of the hose to do it. Maybe I'm picky but it's annoying to have to keep putting back in place.
Finally, the power switch. I like it better at my feet so I don't have to bend forward. Again, the back... :)
As far as how the vacuum functions it's so far absolutely excellent. It's bringing back up my matted down carpet and removing a lot more dirt and hair than the last vacuum. Again, I like that I can turn off the brushes because I clean a lot with the pet tool attachment for the furniture. I really like that the pet tool attachment isn't made with brushes to ruin the furniture. I haven't used the other two attachments yet but they look like they would function well. I also checked the price of filters to make sure I wasn't going to spend a fortune in the long run. They are cheaper and there are fewer than a lot of the other vacuums. I won't be purchasing any of the Febreze ones you promote, they're nasty. My boyfriend complained that after I vacuumed he got a headache because it was too strong.
I did have to hit up the manual in the store because the display and the box seems to have left out which filters I would need. Most other vacuums had it listed. Maybe I missed it.
One thing I almost forgot, the dirt container. When I empty it some gets stuck on the side where there are little tabs. If I have to shake or tap the dirt out it's going to fly up in the air making the whole process pointless. Also, the inner circular portion of it, why is it open? Dirt seems to get clogged up in there.
Excellent vacuum just with minor annoyances that need fixed in order to make an even better vacuum. Best for price. Others are $80 roughly with more problems. Better in long run to spend the $130 to have it work better with cheaper filters.
(It would be nice in these drop down menus in the review to list multiple surfaces or uses for this product)

Rated 1 out of 5 by jn176769 Don't be suckered in with all these good reviews......
This started out as the 'best vacuum I have ever owned.' It worked wonders. I was amazed of how much stuff came out of my carpets, tons! After a few uses, I noticed it was slowly going down hill. I would have to go over the same carpet section multiple times to get everything up, it wouldn't pick up ANYTHING off my hard floors and it ruined a few of my rugs because the rollers were too strong. After about 8 months of having the machine, the belt stopped working and the rollers didn't roll anymore. I cleaned the machine a few times, but it wasn't like it was completely clogged with dirt. After cleaning it for the last time, it died.
Good luck with this. It is a complete waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by QueenOfPlastic Total Floors Pet Vacuum - Where have you been all my life?
Wish I didn't wait so long to get this. Just got it for Christmas 2012. The vacuum works great. Can't believe the amount of dust & pet hair that it picks up. Just love this thing!
*Cord: Perfect in length for my househould.
*Hose reaches the top 11th step as the 12th step is the 2nd floor.
*Volume: Others have said it is loud... no way, it is so much quieter then my 4yr old vacuum!
*Turbo Eraser: What can I say about the Turbo Eraser - other then WOW! Love it! I use it on the steps and cat trees. Mine broke after 10 minutes of 1st use. Nothing was clogged. I checked everything, no clogs, great suction. It just stopped rotating. I called Bissell & they sent out a new one immediately. I received it within a week. Been driving the family nuts trying to find other things to clean with it.
*Pet Hair Fabric Tool: The best! We have dark bed sheets and a white cat. Not a good mix. This fabric tool is great at picking up the pet hair without sucking in the sheets with it. I also use it on the drapes. The hair comes off & it doesn't pull the drapes down.
*Febreze Filter: Just found a soft fragrance coming off of it. Unpacking it was a strong overpowering smell but in the vacuum, it just a lite soft fragrance.
*Brush Roller button: Love this thing too. Just use your foot to press on the button to turn it off & press again to turn it on. Wonderful! Works like a dream.
*Bare Floor setting: Like others said, doesn't seem to pick up anything that's thicker then a strand of hair. Pet hair tumbleweeds pick up easily. The smallest of crumbs - no such luck. Have to use the hose for that.
* Weight: About the same as other vacuums in this size and features.
*Dirt container - I always had bagged prior to this. I've noticed that when I remove the container, the dusty hair balls float out into the air. It's like they're being pulled out by the static electricity in the air.
*Assembly: Talk about the worst instructions ever!! It was a struggle putting it together as the manual & online video were horrible and offered no help. The video hid the little details or didn't show them at all. In the printed & online manual they were hidden in darkness or not shown. Carrying handle - whats that? Couldn't tell in picture, manual, or video. By process of elimination was able to figure it out. Where does the 3 hose/tool storage pieces go??? Again not clear in any of the instructions offered. Had to guess at it. Attach the TurboEraser holder - easier said then done as it seemed it would have snapped in half before snapping into place. Video instruction on that would have helped. Hose Guide/Tool Caddy - nicely done in video.
*Attn: Bissell reps - you really got to work on improving your assembly instructions. A new vacuum shouldn't start off so frustrating. I spent over 45 minutes trying to assemble this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pug Mom Love, love, love!!!
As a self-proclaimed "pug obsessed" mother of a spoiled rotten fawn pug, my husband and I would pick out furniture and carpets to match our four-legged princess. Pugs are notorious for shedding and theres no where in the house that our baby is not allowed to go. As soon as this Bissell came on the market, I went from store to store looking to get it. Whats amazing is that you think you've vacuumed everything and then you empty the canister and do another once over and its full again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by kdrugg1102 Stopped working 6 months later
I've had this vaccuum for about 6 months now and at first it worked great. I have a large dog that sheds ALOT and it picked up all his dog hair. Six months later it has completely lost suction. I replaced all the filters, tore the whole thing apart looking for a clog but nothing. The motor simply stopped sucking. It has always been very loud as well and sounds like it's 10 years old. Will never buy another Bissell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ausky I am in love with this vacuum!
Okay, so when I saw this on a commercial I was like, "Ooohhh pet vacuum! I want!" mainly for the side suction thing it has going on because I can never get into the edges of my carpet, plus my vacuum is about as old as me and I needed a new one. When I got it I had NO idea how in love with this thing I would become! I also had no idea how GROSS my carpet was before I used this haha!
Anyway, assembly was easy (though I wish the pictures had been in color) and the Febreeze filter thing smells AH-MAZING. I see some people complaining about the cord length but I think it's just perfect! Much longer than my previous vacuum (but I do live in a townhome) and it reaches where I need it to. I really can not stress how amazing the suction on this thing is. I have two dogs, one of them is a husky. Husky=LOTS of hair and shedding and a cat, not to mention we spread diatomaceous earth in our house because we had fleas so all of that was hanging out in our overly lived on carpet. Not to emphasize the grossness of my carpets, but I literally empty out the canister thing in this thing 4-6 times every time I vacuum and it just keeps picking up more! This is the most glorious vacuum I have ever used and I have used a lot of vacuums. I highly recommend it to anyone that needs an amazing vacuum, even those without pets! I will be buying these as long as they make them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by D. Newton Just one word "Powerful"
I can't believe all the stuff I can pick up with this vacuum cleaner. I have to empty it often, but what I find, "WOW". The house looks so clean after I use the vacuum. I love the smell of the Febreze. Just a powerful, easy to use machine. And by the way, it is light and so easy to move around the house.
Oh, I forgot to mention. I have 4 cats and 3 dogs and a 4 year grandson running around the house. And this machine keeps up just fine. I also bought these other products. I am very pleased with them too.

This picks up more than our first Bissell but was much harder to assemble. The video is only 3 minutes and goes too fast.I had to play it 5 times.Sometimes the man's hand blocks your view. The manual pictures are too dark and small. It's lighter than our last one however.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Poppy & GT Nice Improvement & good value
My daughter used our Oreck while sitting for our three cats. When we returned from vacation, she recommended that we purchase this unit. We've had it for a couple months and are still impressed with what it picks up from the carpet. The furniture attachment is easy to use, store and is equally effective.
Compared to what we've used before, we don't find this unit to be too noisy or too heavy but, I could live with a bit of either in exchange for the improved performance over our old vacuum.
The only negative so far is use on bare floors. Picking up litter from a hardwood floor is not a strong point and the only reason this isn't rated a five.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dog and cat owner Difficult to find parts
I love this vacuum - when it works. Twice the belt has broken in the one year I've owned it, and both times the belt was out of stock on the website. WalMart doesn't carry the belt for this vacuum, and after calling every repair store within an hour there's not one in stock. So it's only a great vacuum if you can use it.

I have to say that I absolutely love this vacuum. I have 1 dog that sheds moderately or so I thought. The first time I used the vacuum in my small living room I filled the canister...
