This sounded perfect for moving to a house at the beach with tile floors and pets. What could be better than vacuuming and mopping at once? I have found the Symphony to be very disappointing. No matter how often I change the pads, the floors streak. The vacuum hardly sucks up pet hair or dirt. It mostly blows it around. I have one area rug and have tried to use only the vacuum feature. It requires herculean strength to push it across the rug-with or without the attachment. I continue to use it hoping it will get better, but sadly it doesn't perform as I had hoped.

I had high hopes for this bissell after reading all the reviews but on my third try using it the steam stopped and all it did was click all the time. Returning it to store. I should have known better to get a steam vac as I have always just bought steam cleaners who do fine. Too much equipment on this and heavy to push around as well. I wish it would have worked, but now I am back to buying just a steam cleaner. It really cleans the floor well and dries instantly as it cleans. A big plus if it works. Never even got to register it for the warranty.

We already have the shampoo carpet Bissell. Saw the ad on TV and realize we are very satisfied with it so why not try the Symphony. I am so happy we did. I use to vacuum my floors then use a wet mop. So much time consuming especially with two Shepherds. I love it so far and hope to get a lot out of it.

Now you come out with one that does both. I own BISSELL VACUUM, the best in suction, light weight, (great for neck/shoulder medical problems) easy canister removal for easy under cleaning.
The 2nd best suck vacuumed owned; leave name out; but to heavy n loud..BISSELL #1 all the way.

With 2 cats n 2 puppies, wow is all I can say about the time saved n ease of clean up
You have to make sure to hold the steam lever the whole time to keep the pad 'wet' with steam. Otherwise it drags n doesn't clean as well
Love this machine. It's my 3rd steamer,1st Bissell

Rated 2 out of 5 by barry Great concept BUT
I found the idea of the vacuum & steam clean together a great idea. However, I also found it to be very heavy to push back & forth.
I was looking to eliminate a step but found it even harder on my body due to the weight of pushing something that heavy.
It would be great if there could be some sort of self propellant to allow the system to glide back & forth.
I ended up returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Clebron Best Cleaning Machine ever!
I have the Symphony now for 3 weeks and that's it! I'm not going back to sweeping and moping separately. I have 2 dogs and they shed a lot (yeah both) and this Vacuum and Mop combination has released a lot of stress over my shoulder since I got it. It is easy to use and fast. I thought the vacuum will not be as strong as a regular vacuum but it is. Also due to my back problems moping was hard for me so I will always leave it to someone else NOW is all on me. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Liz1052 Works as Advertised, could do corners better otherwise great
I just purchased after months of wanting one and found that it works as claimed and my floors have never been cleaner. I live in an 1890 house will all wood floors. I used a regular vacuum for the rugs, but it doesn't do the hardwood floors well and could never get all the debris from the cracks between the floor boards. After vacuuming I would have to sweep the hard floors then mop with a traditional mop and dry it up with towels.
I found the symphony could accomplish all of these tasks at once. In addition, I was surprised at how much dirt it sucked up from the floors that had been stuck between the floor boards. It was also great on grouted tile floor that the regular vacuum also doesn't do well.
I was also surprised that it doesn't steam the floor too much. I was worried the floor might get too wet and get damaged, but this was not the case
One thing I didn't like is it does not get into corners well with the step, because the vacumn being in the front. Also it is tough to push, because it sucks the floor so hard, but this I think key to its excellent cleaning ability.
One thing to remember when use the mop is to proceed in to vacuumed area, vacuum end first to avoid getting solids trapped in microfiber cloth. When i first started working with it I made the mistake of backing up over an vacuumed area that included a wood splinter. I had to stop and take this off the micro fiber cloth before proceeding so I didn't accidentally scratch the floor. In this respect it is not like a normal vacuum, you have to move in a forward direction first. With the Symphony I do the floors in lines first going forward, the backwards directly over the original like to get it steamed twice, then move over and start going up the next row. This little bit of care, keeps the cleaning pad from getting gunked up, as the vacuum is pretty strong and if you move forward will suck up any loose dirt before you go over it witht he steam cloth
