It should be cheaper, for the price you should get what is advertised. The vacume does not work well, it's not as good as any single vacume on its own. It's almost frustrating when you notice dirt and hair stuck to the floor after being wet by the steam. I usually have to go back and vacume or sweep after it has dried. Not a bad steam mop, very hot. The other reviews must be fake, it doesn't work that well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Char36 Use DISTILLED water only
Well first of I LOVE this vac. It does make my floors feel barefoot clean. I have 4 dogs so it's a must to have something like this. I did not use distilled water therefore after 5 months of use...the steam NO longer works. :( It is my own fault as it says to use distilled only. I have tried a the tricks to get it to steam again w no luck. Make sure to do the maintenance as per instructions as well. Overall I was quite happy. I plan on buying another one right now.

I have a big house with a lot of hard wood floor, the steam mop is great, there is no streaking and it dries quickly and gives my floors a wonderful shine to it. HOWEVER the problem I have is that the suction on the vacuum is not really that strong. I hope you guys end up making a Bissell symphony 2 and strengthen the suction and perhaps widen the tube for the suction. While vacuuming a piece of plastic got stuck and I had to take the bottom portion of the device apart with a screw driver to get the piece of plastic out. Otherwise its a pretty good product, and I'm happy with the purchase overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by C.C. A great solution
I hate mopping the usual way- hate putting soap or chemicals on the floor and never really knowing if I've got it all rinsed off- did I get the floor too wet? It's taking forever to dry, worried about pets walking on it, etc etc. This product has been great- had it 8 months so far. It deep cleans the floor without adding soap or chemicals, dries in a minute or less. I was skeptical at first about the vacuuming and steaming at the same time, but it works. This is the first time I've liked a product well enough to take the time to write a review.

Very disappointed. We are awaiting our 4th unit from Bissell. First 3 either the steam never worked or worked one time. I feel there is a problem in the eengineeringof this product. The vacuum worked okay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hawaiimom so-so
I live in Hawaii, and while that might sound like paradise, it does mean that there are some challenges with keeping a house clean. First of all, my home, like many others in Hawaii, is not air conditioned. Instead, I have louvered windows like you might find in a sun room or Florida room to take advantage of the constant cool trade winds that typically blow. Wind constantly blowing through your house, also means that dust and dirt is constantly blowing through the house as well. Needless to say, the idea of being able to vacuum and steam mop my house-full of tiled floors sounded amazing to this full-time working mother of two! I did my research and found the Bissell Symphony. If I run the Symphony daily, I could definitely keep up with the dust and dirt. However, the once a week cleaning (if I'm lucky) that I'm actually able to do, is not handled as well as I had hoped by the Symphony. The vacuum's suction is barely strong enough to suck up my long hair even when it hasn't been made wet by the mop. Once the mop has dampened the hair, dust, and dirt, the vacuum is unable to suck it up, leaving piles of dust, dirt, and hair in the corners of the house. I have to go back with a paper towel to wipe up those piles. I've found that in order for my floors to get really clean, I have to pull out my old regular vacuum and then run the steam mop--which is exactly what I was trying to avoid doing by purchasing the Symphony. A stronger vacuum would have greatly improved my satisfaction with this product. I have actually put a dry crumb directly in front of the vacuum without the mop pad on the Symphony and it did not get sucked up. My husband has teased me for years because I'm constantly purchasing new floor cleaning products to simplify my cleaning process. I guess the teasing will continue, because the Symphony has not ended my search for the perfect floor cleaning device.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sara horrible smell!!
I purchased this about 2 months ago, and loved it after first use. However, after first use it exudes a horrible odor. I change pass after every use and clean filter also but have been unable to get rid of smell. It's a huge disappointment and if I could take it back I definitely would!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Parrotsni Better than a hand mop!
Overall, I find the Symphony worthwhile. However, with 3 huskies, 3 cats, and 10 parrots, the vacuum feature is only good for the little stuff. I have to sweep up fur from cats and dogs as well as the dry pasta and almond shells tossed out of cages onto floor.
I also wish there was no streaking. I have tried the disposal pads from Proctor and Gamble and they really streak. I'm finding the Swifter dry refills to be better but not ideal. I really didn't like the really dirty cloth mop pads. I don't like washing them in my normal laundry so I bought 3 sets to be able to save up for just a load of pads.
I think Bissell is very poor about instructions for their products. When I bought the disposable pad kit, there were no directions how to use it. I couldn't figure it from the directions on the pad package which is for a Swifter product. I called Bissell for help and they sent me another mop head. It was the same. In comparing it to the original mop head for cloth pads, I finally noticed differences and discovered how to secure the disposable pad. Also the website does not indicate where to get the disposable pads. They are not available from Bissell. I decided I don't like the wet disposable pads but they are available where Swifter products are sold such as Walmart.
