My Versus® Cordless Bare Floor Vacuum has low or no suction. How should I fix this?

Answer:

1. Make sure the dirt cup is empty and attached correctly. If there are any gaps between the dirt cup and the foot of the unit, the vacuum will lose suction.

2. Remove the dirt cup and check for suction at the motor duct (pictured below). If there’s no suction at the motor duct and the vacuum is outside the one year warranty, you’ll need to buy a new machine. But, if the vacuum is still under the one year warranty, please call us at 1-800-237-7691, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., or Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET with proof of purchase for assistance. A representative will be ready and waiting to help you out!

3. Make sure both filters are clean. The foam filter can be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent but must be completely dry before you put it back into the machine. The white pleated filter can be tapped out into the trash, but must be replaced if it’s too dirty—it’s not washable. To replace it, click here: http://www.bissell.com/filter-pack-26b4

4. Check the air duct in the dirt cup (pictured below) for debris. The air duct can be cleaned out using a Q-tip or pipe cleaner.
