It gets the floor pretty clean; I've been using a string mop for years, and my floor was clean. But I have a small apartment and I was sick of the water, bucket and wet mop routine. This is much more convenient, but there is a learning curve.
The biggest problem seems to be pretty stupid; the steam "trigger" also releases the broom handle from the steam unit. So, when I pull the trigger for extra steam, I also pull the handle out of the base.
I will keep looking at it - maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it seems to be a pretty dumb design flaw. I hope I can use it without the trigger. Time will tell.

I love the way it cleans but it has one huge problem. The mop does not fit the steamer. Every time I use it, this frustrates me. There are Velcro tabs that were designed to hold the mop in place. Unfortunately, the taps don't reach around the steamer, so it continually falls off when I mop. Today, I tried holding the mop on with rubber bands. That didn't work, either. Please make the mop larger so the Velcro will hold it in place!

I have been using this mop two to three times a week on my whole house and it works great I had a more expensive one and found out with any steam mop you can not leave in on and sitting with the pad on the floor or it will burn out from the heat if you need to walk away tip the pad up so the heat excapes.

I have only used the steam mop once, so far. It cleaned well, and I very much like not having to wash the pad, BUT, the scent of the pads is WAY TOO strong and lasting. We left windows open and still could smell it 24 hours later. PLEASE make the pads unscented. Some of us are sensitive to fragrances, even allergic.

At first I was happy it worked great but in the fourth use it no longer steams. Don't buy. I should of read the reviews before buying and would not have wasted money.

I have been using it for about 6 months now. I would have given it a full Five if not for some things I didn't like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dkmcarolina Better than a mop and pail.
The question, is it 50 dollars better. Only time will tell. I just needed something to make cleaning my small patch of laminate kitchen floor more effective and efficient. It seems to have done that after one use. Floor dries faster than a regular mopping. That was important to me too. Looks very clean. Over all I'm pleased but I hope to avoid the plastic rod breakage that others have noted. That's what the warranty is for.

I'm sorry I did not read the reviews before I purchased the steamboost. I have not had it that long and the sprayer button broke. I am very disappointed. I don't think I will buy another one.

This product broke after less than a year, it will not heat or steam. For a little more money one can purchase a more reliable product rather than replacing this one less than every year.
And I becoming more and more irritated with this website that has too many requirements to enter you name. I just want to post a review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mimi Broken - can't be fixed
I really liked using this mop and thought it was cleaning my floors well. But, like others reported, the trigger broke (inside the handle) and there is no way to repair it. What a bummer!! It doesn't seem like a good idea to buy another one. Based on all the reviews, the company needs to do a redesign and make the trigger mechanism stronger and more durable.

not sure what this is good for...I can clean my floors just as well with a mop. and use a cleaner that smells good. and doesn't have a cord. I own two other Bissell machines, both I cannot live without...but this thing is worthless. Maybe I can return it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sparkle Easy to use
Much easier to use than a mop and bucket. Wish the cleaning pads came in unscented. We do not care for the scents that are available. I thought my floor looked clean before I began; I was very surprised at how much dirt was on the pad when I was done.

Rated 1 out of 5 by poor Leaves a film on laminate flooring
I bought this and wished it would be good.. I have used it 3 times and every time I get a film on my floor ... From the pads ... it would work better if it only used steam with reusable pads... wouldn't recommend

Rated 1 out of 5 by Drew broken after 3 uses
I live in a studio and thought this would be a perfect purchase for quick cleaning of my new wooden floors - no pets, no heavy cleaning. I went the cheap route and got what I paid for. A piece of plastic keeps the long rod attached to the body of the steamer broke after three uses at home….and of course I bought the thing with a gift card from Target and have no receipt. Total loss.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mommykim Much better than a mop!
Love this product! It is much more sanitary than a mop, the pads are kept moist but not too moist by the steam, then I can throw the dirt away. Must swiffer first to get the major dirt and particles off the floor. I pretty much keep the steam button pressed throughout the cleaning and that works well to get the dirt up. It doesn't make the pad or the floor too wet and the floor dries quickly. It's more of a weekly mop than a heavy duty cleaning steam mop.

very poor quality. we have the dry swiffer and are very satisfied however this is very poorly constructed. the steam button broke only after several uses. constructed of very poor quality plastic. Invest in something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Madhousewife Not a Good Product!
I have had my steamboost for only 3 months, when the plastic trigger snapped and broke. For the amount of money you spend on the product alone then for the pads. One would be better off getting a different steam mop with the cloth pads you can put into the washer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by amy Have a gentle trigger pull.....
I like the steam and ease of use for a quick clean up and sanitizing.
It still does not do edges against the floor boards well but I haven't found a product that does this. (other than good old elbow grease).
I do not like the fragrance of cleaning pads.
The trigger broke and now has no tension to steam. The trigger needs to be better built. We are gentle use people and it broke while squeezing the trigger. I won't buy a new one...just want to purchase the handle to replace - but it isn't available.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jackie Unscented pads need to be available
Why do manufacturers think we need to perfume all the fresh air in our homes. As an individual who wheezes around perfumed products, I find these perfumed pads a real problem.....find that if I rinse the pad several times before using they are tolerable but am about to discard this product for another. By the way, as a nurse, I have had many patients who become nauseated around perfumes.......e.g., people who are receiving chemotherapy.
You need to provide an unscented option.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mo I like the the entire concept
I have been looking for someone to come up with an affordable steam machine with a GOOD NAME behind Lightweight, heats fast, wet steam pads clean great (reasonable price), and pass the "paper towel test" after use. Meaning a wet paper towel across floor comes back clean.

In combination with the sweeper vac, the three plus hours spent cleaning floors every weekend has been reduced to under one. The Steamboost did an excellent job on my wood floors - shiny and no streaks! I now have more time to spend with my kids! I would highly recommend this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Suedu56 Broke after 4th use
I received the Steamboost for Christmas. I went to use it today and after I filled the water chamber I realized the mop was leaking. On closer inspection I found that the water hose to the mophead was broken in half. This is due to poor design. The plastic hose runs right over a metal joint and it obviously receives constant erosion with joint bending.I had only used the mop 4 times. I used it as directed and emptied the water chamber after each use.So disappointed since I love my other Swiffer products.

I have had to replace this twice because the handle will not stay on. My neighbor had the same problem with hers. It does a good job cleaning but do not like the strong smell of the pads. perhaps unscented or a milder fragrance that evaporates would be nice?
