Rated 4 out of 5 by Homeowner Amazing product
I saw this advertised on television and thought if it works as well as they say it is pretty amazing. We have a lot of dog hair on our floors and 2 kids running in and out all the time. I did vacuum the floors first to get most of the dog hair because I figured why fill the steam and sweep up with fur right away. It was very easy to put together, reasonably priced (found a $20 mail in rebate at the Bissell website) and lightweight. I had the entire (large) kitchen floor and hallway done in less than ten minutes. The only complaint I have is that you have to hold the button down to release the steam and my arm hurt towards the end. I ran it with the sweeper going to pick up anything I missed when I vacuumed. I would highly recommend this to anyone with linoleum floors (not sure how it works on other surfaces) as it is quick, easy and dries instantly. No more waiting until nobody else is home to wash the floor so it has time to dry.

The vacuum suction is not very powerful and will not pick up in corners, along walls, or pick up fine powder. The mop pad does not extend to the front of the cleaning unit (due to the vacuum in front) so it does not mop along walls unless you turn the unit sideways and still then it does not get the corners, (even if you run it sideways and backwards) because the mop pad does not reach the very corner. And even though Bissell says you do not have to hold the trigger down the entire time you are mopping - if you don't, then you are actually not "steam-cleaning" your floor. I am VERY dis-satisfied with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kim Disappointed. Not what I expectes
I have had this item for about 24 hours. First I have to say I wasn't expecting a lot form this product. All I needed was something that could sweep up small dirt, food particles, pet hair and steam the floors.
It was easy to assemble. The water tank was not so easy. It was hard to line it up to get it to screw on so the water wouldn't leak.
The sweeper works well in some ways. It does pick up most of what I would normal sweep up with a broom. Once I started the steam it all went down hill. You can't steam and sweep at the same time which was the whole point of buying it. If you do the rubber spinner that picks up dirt gets wet. Then the pad just smears the dirt everywhere it's disgusting! I had to mop twice once I was done. The steam itself can't be hot enough to sanitize. I never once saw any steam at all come from the back of the steamer.
I spent several hours testing this thing out. I found that I had to sweep, empty the bin, wash it and wipe down the spinner then I could steam. Problem with that is I had to use both pads more than once. They don't soak up any of the water. They should have to if the steam works right it should dry up almost immediately.
I would not buy this item again or anything like it from any company until someone figures out how to assemble it without the conflict between the sweeper and steamer. I will give it some time and attempt to find a way to work around the issues but once I've used it for about a week to two weeks and it's still taking twice as long to do the floors as it does when I use a regular broom and mop I will return it.

The machine is easy to assemble and parts are easy to wash; it vacuums well but does not clean corners or around furniture legs because the microfiber pad is behind the sweeper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by sockie Worked well while it lasted
I've had this model for 2 years. I bought it to replace my other Bissell steam mop that the movers (temporarily) lost. (I refuse to mop any other way now that I've discovered steam mops!)
Anyway, this one worked well. The sweeper didn't pick up everything, but for small crumbs, etc., it did work. It's a nice feature since vacuuming before you mop takes twice as long. The steam worked well, like it should, and all was happy in Mopping Land. Until it broke. :(
I'm still not sure what I did-- I just hit the release to lower the handle to a mopping position and something popped. Then all the steam came out of the top of the mop instead of the bottom. I looked but didn't see any way to fix it, short of taking the whole thing apart.
Since I was in the middle of mopping, I finally just went and got my old Bissell steam mop out of the garage. And lo and behold, it didn't work anymore. It wouldn't make steam.
In all fairness, the movers could have broken it since I had not used it since getting this model. But considering the plastic reservoir on the back had broken almost immediately after I got it and I had to duct-tape the piece back on in order to use it, it's also possible the thing just broke on it's own.
So now I am looking for another steam mop. I probably won't buy another Bissell since durability in an issue. (And for reference, I used my mops 1-2 times per month.)
For this model, I'll give 3 stars. It works well for how long it works. It just disappointing that it didn't last longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by amberale77 filter smells like fish
We bought the steam mop in march of 2014 and have used it for two months. We always use distilled water and remove the water tank after use, but it has still managed to make the house smell like fish after use. what do we do now?

Rated 4 out of 5 by micshabby Better than some steamer cleaners
This is my second steam cleaner. The first one was a brand new canister style (not a Bissell) with all attachments I bought and used once because the musty smell overpowered me and I "ran screaming from the house" never to use that thing again.
Fast forward to this past Christmas and I showed hubby what I wanted. I do like it but not jumping for joy about it yet. I've only used it twice this past week. My floors, I am embarrassed to say, have not been wet cleaned for almost 2 years because of an illness that didn't allow me to function very well. (My guy doesn't do housework.)
The cleaner was very easy to use and I did see a difference in the floors. They are a little streaky but I'm sure that will change as I do the floors on a more consistent basis. I was also happy because it is a very light cleaner and I can lift it without help from my hubby.
I am a little disappointed in the so-called brushes because they aren't brushes. They are vinyl "thingies" only which I'm sure will wear away easily. I am also disappointed in the dirt pan being too hard to re-attach. I dread doing it. I spend at least a half hour or more trying to get it to re-attach the pan. But all in all, I give this cleaner a thumbs up.
i am looking forward to buying a hand held soon so I can do the walls and counters. We have very hard water and I'm hoping a hand held will clean the orange stain in the rub and sinks.
