Rated 2 out of 5 by kerri311 Worked OK until it broke into pieces
Purchased this just 13 months ago. It worked well as long as you made sure to fill bin with hot water each time. Unfortunately I started noticing little pieces of blue plastic left behind each time I cleaned. Today the entire bottom side that is blue plastic broke to pieces causing the entire machine to not work. I'm just one month shy of being covered by warranty and they unfortunately don't sell the piece I need to replace.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cappi Brush mechanism is not any good for tough stains
I have had this machine about 2 weeks and the brush mechanism already is worn out because it is made of plastic. I have only used it 4 times. In my opinion this machine is a total waste of money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KentuckyTony Spot Lifter Review (1716-B)
It is easy to figure out how to use. The User Guide is very concise and clear.
A tad heavy for one-handed use.
The suction seems weak and the carpet seems too wet after done. (I will experiment with the tilt of the unit for better suction.)
The price seems about right.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kerstie Loved the old model without the powerbrush
I had one of the old Bissell Spotlifter models for years. This model had a brush, but it wasn't the agitating brush, which was just fine. This old model had a great sprayer which was automatic and didn't have to be 'pumped' and then you wait and then pump again.
The very best thing about the old model was the fact that it was flat/flush to the floor....you didn't have to tip it 45 degrees to get the suction head flush to the floor! With the old model you could spray, brush, and suction all at the same time! It was great! This tipping 45 degrees is cumbersome and not user friendly at all.
I had this newer unit for about the last 5 years and never really liked it because of the pump sprayer and tip to suction function. It finally quit working and now I'm looking at what to buy.
I have researched the Little Green Portable and the Spotlifter 2X. I won't buy the Little Green due to the reviews of the cleaning difficulty, thus resulting in a smelly machine. The Spotlifter 2X looks to be designed more like my old Spotlifter, flush to the ground. BUT, I'm hesitant on purchasing because it's rechargeable and many of the reviews say it only runs for say 5 minutes. This is definitely not enough time to clean up a mess. Also the rechargeable battery just doesn't last like it should.
I'd love it if you had a model designed like the 2X, but was a plug-in unit. Just a basic hand held model like my 'old one' would be great to see again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joybell FANTASTIC!
This little machine is a miracle worker! Stains come right up and my carpet looks so much better! Wish I had bought it much sooner!
So easy to operate and cleanup is a breeze. Thanks Bissell!

I cannot get water to come out of the supply water tank. Any suggestions. Brushes and suction work good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Patchy A great investment
I have two cats and naturally have hair ball accidents. One of my cats is missing teeth and doesn't always chew his food thoroughly .....therefore, throw up and the food color stains the cream color carpet. The Bissell worked wonderful even on dried stains. I sometimes have to do a second treatment but it is so easy and convenient to do. I can't say enough about this product. If it ever stops working, I would order another one immediately.

I have returned the unit. It was not what I had anticipated. It was cumbersome to use and both solution and return tank could not be emptied completely. The odor was very offensive. I'll try something larger.
