I purchased this for Christmas, and it was literally the last one on the shelves. These puppies sell, and for good reason.
I bought my house in April, and by December I had a few spots on the carpet that I just couldn't get to go away. I had tried other products (spot cleaners) and even borrowed my mother's carpet cleaner (another brand whose name looks a lot like hover). Nothing seemed to work. The spots just kept getting worse.
After giving this cleaner to my wife I used it to clean the living room. I was skeptical to say the least. However, moments into cleaning I realized it was cleaning more dirt and junk out of my carpets than any of the solutions I had tried previously.
The bladder tank is great for keeping everything all in one place. I hated having to take two containers to the sink, one to fill one to empty. This is much easier to handle.
I also really love the separate tank for handling the solution. No more guessing what concentration I need, or complaining I wasted a bunch when I only had a few more feet to wash. Also keeping the solution right in the tank just makes it that much easier to get started next time you need to clean.
My spots are now gone. My floors, stairs, and chairs are all clean. I am absolutely in love with my Bissell cleaner.

We recently bought this machine after our Hoover carpet cleaner died. We absolutely love this Bissell. We have a Rottweiler who sometimes makes a mess. We use the pet stain tool and get the stain out easily. I filled the cleaning solution container with carpet clean solution and the rest white vinegar. Have been using vinegar for a long time for several reasons: helps with hard water and leaves the carpet soft, is an excellent deodorizer and boosts the cleaning power of the solution. Amazing how long the solution lasts. The single tank for clean and dirty water is genius! So easy to remove, fill/rinse and install. This cleaner is also not as loud as the Hoover. Using the hand tools is a breeze: all you do is turn the switch to "tools", attach the tool to the hose and you are ready to go. In short: this is an excellent choice for a great price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unhappy Worst Steam Cleaner EVER
I bought this Steam Cleaner almost two years ago to replace my 8 yr old Hoover. It worked great the first few times I used it, but then the parts started to slowly fall apart on me and now it wont even dispense water or suck it up. The only thing that will work now is the attachment parts. I should have known better then to buy a Bissell since a couple of my friends had one with the same issues. Come tax return I will be replacing it with another Hoover, I will never buy another one of your products again. I am just sad that I spend all this money on something I hardly use. I have three teenagers in the house so I don't use it on a constant basis but when I do need to it would be nice if it actually worked. Thanks for making me spend my husbands hard earned money.

I can't get this thing to expel water to save my life. I've gone through every single one of the troubleshooting items 3x over again and it still doesn't work. Have only used this product a handful of times and for it to not work now, I would rather pay a professional for one time clean. So I thought I would use the tool to clean a rug, the thing spits water out 3 feet to each side and it gets everywhere. More water landed on me than the rug.

Living on a ranch, our carpets get plenty of grit on them. Even though we remove our shoes prior to coming in the door, it still makes it's way in. After only 3 months of having the machine it stopped expelling cleaning solution in the proper spray pattern. Now the machine "spits" it out, even when using the hand tools. The cleanser just drips out. The suction is great but I do find that the rollers do not get enough speed going even on low pile carpet. I am glad I purchased the warranty with this machine as it will be going back for another model. I use Bissell products more often than any other so I am quite disturbed by the lack of quality in this machine.

I bought this as a replacement cleaner and it stopped working properly after the first use. With kids and pets, I clean the carpets in heavily used areas of my home every 3-4 weeks so I don't expect these machines to be a lifetime investment, but I do expect them to last at least a year or two. On the 2nd use, the spray button had to be pressed repeatedly to get it started and then the machine started spraying unevenly (water going everywhere). I thouroughly cleaned the machine, including the brush and the entire area surrounding it thinking maybe it had become clogged, but found no problems. The machine is being returned for a refund tomorrow. It did an amazing job the first time, but I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this model instead of relying on the Bissell name. This machine does not do the brand justice.

I'm use to a 2 tank system and I was worried about this 1 tank system, but once you use it, you will love it! In one trip, you easily dump the dirty and fill up the clean water. I wish there was maybe an easier way to hold the tank and to be able to take other parts off to clean, but it's still pretty easy to clean. It got a lot of pet hair out of the carpet and it was easy to pick up and vacuum after it dried. I think it really cleaned the carpet and made it look better.
I was disappointed to see I need to purchase a separate floor tool to clean my bare floors, when it does list bare floors in it's specs of surface types.
Overall, the cleaner doesn't feel too bulky, but doesn't feel cheap either, it's very easy to use, cleans great and worth the money.

Just rented a rug dr last week and wasnt happy with results so I broke down and purchased this Bissell - I just used it today and IM SUPER HAPPY - Its easy to use - its a good solid machine and not flimsy - and it pick up more dirt than the rug dr. I emptied so much dirty water that the rug dr left behind - Its attacking alot of my pet stains - Super stoked about it - Happy Customer - I have read reviews about them breaking after a few months and HOPE this doesnt happen to mine - I totally reccomend this product and stop using the rug dr. and just buy one of these - It works so much better

We just moved into a new house with carpet. We have three dogs who wanted to become familiar with the carpet. Needless to say, I was beside myself, thinking we would need to replace carpet in no time. This machine is awesome. It took out all the "areas" and left my carpet clean. It also took so much of the water back up into the machine that the carpets were dry in less than an hour.

i love they way this product cleans floors but the streaks left by the gaps in the squegee of the hard floor attachment and the way the attachment is constantly falling off while in use is driving me nuts!

I have had the Bissell Proheat 2x pet for less than 1 year. I read reviews about it leaking if you do not ensure you hear a click during assebly. I followed the assebly directions, and distinctly heard a good click. The machine still leaks water. So i always clean the machine real well (discarding any unused solution), and store the machine in the garage. Numerous times during my cleaning the machine, I found bits of plastic broken off the machine. But, I was never able to locate where it came from. Using the theory that the machine still worked, I put the issue at the back of my mind. Well, I went to use the machine and it would not dispense formula through the floor unit. In desperation, I began using the hand tool to clean the carpet. After a short time, it to stopped dispensing solution. As I tried to trouble shoot the problem, a plastic piece for the tank latch broke off and now the latch is sitting on the floor.
In addition to the machine falling apart, after a few uses, the machine began leaving streaks and mottled looking areas on the carpet. I use the Bissell formula as recommended. I switched from the pet formula, to the allergen formula, to the oxyclean formula, and encounter the same streaks and mottled looking carpet, I would not buy this product again, nor recommend this product to friends/family.

I bought the Bissell Proheat Pet Deep Cleaner in May 2012. Having two dogs and thought it would be great for cleaning the carpet. The first time I used the machine it left balls of pet hair everywhere. Which wasn't a real big deal, I could pick it up. As I used it a few more times, I notice the machine was not cleaning up the messes. Then the sprayers quit working. I bought a pump belt and replaced it. It still was not working. I took it to a repairman and he said the automix gadget broke where the hose connects. He replaced the gadget. It did not work. He replaced the pump. It still doesnt work. He replaced all the tubing and the machine still wont spray. Now I have a machine sitting here not working. I'm totally disgusted. I have not had the machine for 6 months before it quit. Now I have to buy a new machine. I will not be buying a Bissell deep cleaner again. I have spent enough money on the machine to find out it still won't work.

So, it seems this product may have some issues after several months of use, BUT I decided to purchase it regardless to try at-home carpet cleaning rather than bringing in an outside business. We have pets and a young child, and I just felt like our carpeted areas of the home needed "refreshed." I will say that before we purchased the home (18 months ago), the carpets were cleaned when the previous owners moved out, then the house sat vacant, so they were professionally cleaned again before we moved in. There were some stains that were left behind by the pros. I had tried to spot treat them, but no luck. The Bissell cleaning formula not only smells great, but it picked up and removed ALL of the stains. It also did a great job removing pet hair left behind from the vac. I found the assembly, use and clean-up of this machine to be really easy. I hope if I follow all of the instrcutions it will last as I would love to use it every 3 months or so on our carpets. Great product (so far)!

I have owned four of these machines, I admit they work really good the first few times you use them. However, after four or five uses I would notice they were not shampooing as well. The more you use them, the less they would spray or pick-up. On each shampooer, after 2 or 3 uses of the hand-tool, the rubber gasket, on the flap that switches between hand-tool and floor, would fall off. We have tried to fix this issue, but to no avail. Additionally, after using the shampooer for a few months, none of the four would spray water. For as much as these shampooers cost, you would think that they would last longer than a couple months. We will NOT be buying this brand again!!!!!

My daughter just bought this steam cleaner for me about 3 months ago , used it maybe 4 times & i'm noticing its not sucking water back up.. there is plenty of suction coming from the duct though. I'm confused... also, I vacuum very well before I steam clean but then as I steam clean it leaves wet/soggy lint/carpet/hair pieces all over the carpet that I have to go behind & pick it all up. Sadly she does not have the receipt anymore & i don't think it was registered.

Bought this Proheat 2x to replace an older Bissel for my sister. The time I cleaned my light color carpets the machine dribbled either water or cleaner on the carpet.
Carried it back to Wal-mart for an exchange. Same thing happens with second one. Every time the machine is used in a cleaning pass, it leaves liquid spots on the carpet! Putting the spray tips up inside the two brushes allows cleaning fluid to collect underneath and in the brush holders thus allowing liquid to collect and leak. It takes multiple passes to suction up the liquid.

The system is fair at best for me. BUT, to be fair, we live in the country and have horses and dogs and track lots of dirt inside on almost WHITE carpet. (Not my choice.) Also, I noticed that when I leave the machine standing (turned off)to move something or to just stop for a second for a drink of water, it leaves little "puddles" where it sat. They are about quarter size and there are three each time. When I am done cleaning the carpet and am ready to put it up, I have to grab it and RUN to the door so it doesn't drip or leave a stream behind me. I tried removing the water holder FIRST, when I'm done, but the water is evidently inside the machine some place and leaves some water on the
carpet anyway. I bought this because we have such a light carpet and were spending a huge amount of money constantly having it shampooed. I'm still not sure of it. The cleaning is okay, but nothing to write home about.

I used my Bissell the same day I bought it. It felt like Christmas in August! I have a 25lb Jack Russell who likes to be in and out of the house constantly so he is always tracking in something. My carpet looks great and I love the heater in the unit and the stain protection in the cleaning solution is an awesome feature. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone I know with pets!

I recieved my cleaner and had 6 rooms to clean..The rugs were terrible cause they are so old and stained...I used the cleaners and on the tough stains I used the hand tools...The rugs all came out 80% better than I expected..It works great..I had no trouble at all putting it together and it was easy switching from hand tools to regular cleaner.

My ProHeat Pet Deep Cleaning System has worked phenomenal for several years. It has been the best investment since we've had young kids. It has definitely helped us pass two move out inspections. Bissell support has been great as well helping out with any and all issues we've had.

I love the cleaner. It does a very good job helping me keep the apartment clean with two puppies inhouse. It's also great on the upholstery (I have a velvet and leather couch!). My issue with it is that I have intermittent problems with it dispensing shampoo and now it won't even dispense the water. Not sure what's up with it, but I've not even had it a year now and I'm wondering if it will only get worse from now on.

I am honestly very disappointed I used this product maybe 5 times since I have had it. I bought this July of 2010. I have a German Shepard so one can imagine the amounts of hair I have in my carpets year long. I cleaned my carpets just fine in march of this year (2012) it worked fine. I went to use it at my in-laws house because they bought a new puppy. The bottom part would not dispense any water nor formula. The floor was just heated carpet that smelt horrid. We took it apart to see what was going on and it showed nothing. We replaced the belt the screws the hose (I thought that it could have been clogged) to this day it still doesn't work. I have always only had Bissell Products. I can honestly say this is the only one I am disappointed in I really expected it to last for more than 2 years. Maybe the next one I get we will have better luck with it lasting.

While cleaning the seventh room in our house a dark liquid started showing up on the carpet. It appears to be coming from just behind the left brush area. (It looks like there is a small belt in this area )Could this be from overheating due to cleaning too many rooms at a time? We were able to clean the liquid or drops up, however we do not want to continue cleaning until we determine this problem.

I purchased this machine because I always heard that bissell was the best. I was not disappointed it cleans and it is easy to operate and has easy to follow instructions. It is easy to fill and is easy to empty and it is easy to operate.
The Deep Clean & Protect dose a good job of cleaning and protecting your carpet. I also purchased the Tough Stain pretreat and it dose a marvelous job I am very happy with my purchase.
