Rated 5 out of 5 by Sparkleclean Great Job!
I've used outside services in the past until I finally broke down and bought the Bissell ProHeat. The proof was in the water I dumped out of the machine. It makes me wonder if our outside service was doing it's job as the water I emptied was more filthy than anytime I watched the service. The house smells clean and the carpets look great for their age. Certainly worth the investment.

I bought this one 4 years ago when I bought my home. It's light enough to do your whole house; I don't have an upstairs so it works great for me. Easy enough for the teenagers to do it too. The heater function allows you to dry as you go and the hot water pulls the stains right out. Note to purchaser, get oxy cleaner and hot water and your carpet will be beautiful. Thanks Bissell best ever along with the vacuum.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Omi Works well, but watch the formula concentration
Up to this point in time, I've primarily used my Bissell Carpet Cleaner to do spot cleaning. The first time I used it, I mixed the Bissell 2X Fiber Cleansing formula according to the formula tank specifications (to me, it appears to be a 50-50 mixture--8 ounces formula mixed with 8 ounces water). I noticed that the mixture seemed very concentrated, but trusted that Bissell knew the right way to mix the detergent. After I used my cleaner to spot clean dog vomit, I noticed that the area seemed a little discolored as if the detergent hadn't been rinsed out completely. I had used the heavy traffic setting first, then used the water rinse setting. Even after repeated treatments, the brownish discoloration remained. Finally, after I used only water in the formula tank and the water rinse setting, I noticed that the discoloration subsided enough so that it isn't noticeable anymore. Now I mix the detergent using a more diluted concentration--3 ounces of formula mixed with 13 ounces of water. In addition, I never use the high traffic setting and rarely use the normal traffic setting. Even with these adjustments, I have noticed this brownish discoloration with other times that I have spot cleaned. When I have used the light traffic setting to spot clean using the more diluted formula, the cleaner does a really good job of getting out stains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by smile :ol paid for itself with just one cleaning
i have this machine , i've used it only once and my carpet is nearly completely clean , the only drawback with this machine is that it leaves a trail of dirty carpet fibers that you have to vacuum up with a separate vacuum as you go back and forth, other than that you have to take the machine outside and spray it with a hose to remove the carpet fibers that have built up inside the hood of the cleaner just above the rollers, it rinses away easily while still wet, just after use.

I was very excited in the beginning used twice. Some time between attempted to use and the water was leaking very fast out of the tub. Took it to our local service place recommended by Bissell, his first look said vey nice machine after much checking and switching out parts he could not fix the leak from the tank, Big pay out for machine that only lasts a few times. Very disappointed.

I was really hesitant to decide on a carpet cleaner but this machine was ranked as the number one carpet cleaner for 2013 so I decided to give it a try. It worked wonderfully! There were stains that I hadn't been able to get out with my compact machine that this machine pulled right out! I love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Valerie50 Bought ProHeat Twice and Both were Duds
This is the second Bissell that we have owned. The first one was used twice and stopped working. It would not spray. We were lucky because the store took it back and replaced it with a new model even though it was 3 years old.
Guess what? The new one was used 1 time which worked great. The second time we tried to use it, that's right, no spray. The tools will not get water/solution and the floor does not get water/solution. No wetness at all. I have tried using the website and the troubleshooting. No luck. This was a total waste of almost $300.00.
