I was attracted to the cleaner because of the dual brushes, light weight, and deep cleaning heating system. All of that is great; however, the cleaner container is very small and runs out rather quickly. Also, it would be nice if it would not leave the carpet so wet. I only have one dog and the carpet was not as clean as I expected.

It's a great product, other than the trouble with the upholstery cleaner, I can get it to suck but it's not spraying, at all, I have the solution in the formula tank an I have it set to "tools" and I still can't get it to work again, it just quit right on the middle of cleaning a chair... Unless I get ths working again, the. I would not recommend paying the price for this product

Bought this model from WalMart yesterday. It took me 20 mins to assemble it. It is doing its job as it says.
One question, approx how much time it takes for this to dry the carpet?

My Bissell is 4 yrs old. I can't get it to spray the cleaning solution ( Bissell Cleaner only ). It also will not spray the water out of bladder. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it. The belts are fine and beaters go around and has suction. Also the latch that holds the handle to the base in upright position is missing. Any ideas on what to do. I love my carpet cleaner.

I just retired my previous carpet extractor of 12 years. It was a Hoover brand. I just recently purchased my Bissell brand carpet extractor at a great price. I hope that my Bissell extractor lasts that long! So far it does a very nice job of deep cleaning! It's very easy to use, and the best feature is the low noise while using it. I really like the double rotating scrubbing bars allot! They even work up some of the carpets fuzz as you're using it. That proves that it is really cleaning my carpets very thoroughly :)

The only way to determine you have used your water supply is to notice that the vacuum is no longer retrieving water from the carpet while holding the spray trigger. The red "full" indicator is pretty useless since you never retrieve as much water as you inject into the carpet unless you would refill and not empty the reservoirs. I found that two tanks of water were required with one tank of cleaner on the normal setting, would suggest increasing the water tank size to more closely match cleaner usage. Otherwise the machine is easier to use than the previous model. Extra row of brushes removed pet hair that pre-vacuuming missed.

The Pro Heat carpet cleaner works great WHEN it works. The pump that sucks the water up frequently goes out. There are no local servicmen who will repair a Bissell product because parts are so hard to come by.

We have 2 dogs and this cleaner not only cleaned up stains from them, it also helped to remove alot of the hair that our vacuum cleaner did not pick up. I would totally recommend for other pet people to purchase one for their home.

We purchased this because a friend had loaned hers to us and we were super impressed!
We hadn't truly cleaned our carpet in about seven years though we had a full HEPA vacuum cleaner which we use and love. No actual carpet cleaner though...
So we read up reviews and the hot water feature really made this model stand out!
We loved it so much when borrowed that we bought one the SAME DAY! I just cannot say how impressed we are with this machine to remove pet stains and odors and do an incredible job at cleaning.
Our carpet looks new and we are thrilled to have purchased this machine. Ours even came with an extra deep cleaning brush as a $30 bonus and that thing is also beyond incredible!
I cannot recommend this machine highly enough. It's super easy to assemble (four screws, seriously) and easy to mix the formula and water (pet stain with scotchguard HIGHLY recommended) and fill the water bladder. Just remember to use HOT water so the water heater works even faster!

I bought my carpet cleaner about 6 yrs ago and have loved it ever since. Unfortunutly I finally killed it, so I am saving up to get a new one. In the mean time I have my Bissell spot bot and my Bissell Vaccume, and my Little Green Mach. to help me keep up on my carpet. (I have 2 dogs and one has a bladder problem, so I clean my carpet at least once a month) I am going to get the ProHeat 2X machine again.

We bought one of these Bissell Proheat 2x cleaners at least 15 years ago and we're still using it! And we have dogs with lots of dog hair. It's a great machine. Highly recommend it.

I had bought a cheap steam cleaner years ago that last only 2 years so decided to buy a nicer one, ProHeat 2X, and at first I was so happy with my purchase it worked wonderful. Unfortunately that did not last too long, I would say MAYBE a year total. After that it just stopped suctioning the water up and would leave the house a stinky wet mess. After trying the tips on the FAQ page, it still didn't work and of course is no longer under warranty. Only reason I give it a 2 star rating is because at first it was wonderful, but not worth the money for only a years use! Very disappointed and now nervous to spend this kind of money on any other cleaner again.

After owning a Bissell Big Green Cleaning Machine for many years, I decided I wanted an all-in-one with rotating brushes, so I bought the ProHeat 2X Deep Cleaning Machine to clean my Chinese hand-carved wool rug. I used the water heating feature and nothing shrank. That rug sheds lots, so the brushes beating on it created an accumulation of wet wool behind the brushes which had to be cleaned out constantly. The machine also became very heavy to push and pull on the thick wet wool rug. I do agree with those who suggest a bigger holding tank, as dumping the dirty formula water gets tiresome. It was a workout, but it left the rug looking like new!

This product works fine with the exception that a piece of the extractor broke and I requested that Bissell back up it's product and I never heard another word from them.

We had a Bissell product for five years but it was having problems. Rather than pay for repairs we purchased a replacement - a better product for less money than we paid five years ago. This is without doubt the best carpet cleaner, perhaps as good as the best job a commercial cleaning company could do. We highly reccomend this product.

A lot of people complained of no spray. I just fixed my brothers machine, it's just a matter of a few minutes to take off the nozzles and clear with a paper clip. This is a Great Machine! Same goes for the hand sprayer, just takes a minute to seperate end and clean the same way.

I love my ProHeat 2x Deep Cleaning System. It does the job over and beyond. Just remember to order a brush belt as an extra in case it breaks.. They do wear out but the cost is so little you won't mind changing it.

No Spray. This machine has a common problem. The spray design is seriously flawed. The spray is always getting clogged up. Heard of several complaints with the same message. Looks like Bissell would fix flaw or quit selling this unit. I would not recommend this unit on my worse enemy. Sorry bissell, you should issue full refunds.

i bought this product to help keep my carpets in good shape because we have twelve cats.And like most animals they have accidents. Let me say that this product did a great job on making my carpets feel and look like new again, all stains removed and fresh smelling .I feel it works better than a rug doctor. It is also extremely easy to use and clean.

I am having spray issues, as well. After cleaning and troubleshooting for an hour to no avail, it seems that I must go through a complicated set of steps to clear the water line between uses. Ugh! Had I known this, I never would have went with Bissell.
We had a Hoover for 5 years and it was used frequently (we have 2 dogs and a child). I could always depend on it to work, unlike our Bissell.
I guess I will try the recommended steps and hope for the best. What a pain...
