bissells are by far the best vacuum cleaner ever. i agree its better than a dyson and a kirby. i have had this vacuum since 2010 ans still works like a beast. ive had some problems with before but now it works like a champ. in my opinion bissells are the best machine made so far. powerforces are the best vacuum cleaner so far.

I got this for a wedding present and knew virtually nothing about vacuums. 4 1/2 years later I am still loving this thing even though I had no clue about it when I got it! I have 2 kids so a good vacuum is important to me. The "dirt container" is big, but I am constantly changing it, so that is a huge relief to me to see how much nastiness the vacuum is picking up! It's not super light (you can't lift it with 1 finger like other brands), but it picks up the dirt. Major win. Would buy it again.

I bought this vacuum not even a year ago at my local Walmart and I went in to buy a repalcement filter for my vac. I noticed there were small changes made to the vacuum but I figured the filters would still work but when I got home, they didnt fit. I spent most of this morning trying to order the filter thru customer service but they no longer make it. The rep offred to sell me another one"similiar" to the old one but it specifies it only works with the 6582 series and mine is completley different. I was happy with my vacuum and hate to think that I only got to use it for less than a year or if I just got stuck buying an older model from the store because now I have to buy a whole new vacuum which is upsetting.

I desperately needed a vacuum cleaner and I did a lot of researching and also went to a store to do some comparing. I bought one at a Big Lot and it is a re-manufactured vacuum. I only got it for $40. So far, it is working very well. I am so surprised of how it picked up the pet hair that usually with a sweeper vac, it was very disappointing. I highly recommend purchasing this model.

And for the money? give me a break.
My girlfriend has a $500 Dyson Canister and it is pretty much in permanent storage. The Bissell is MUCH better. Every single one of the 1 star reviews on here was written by people who don't know how to clean/maintain vacuum cleaners. All vacuum cleaners will do what theirs did if you don't know how to maintain them properly. Mine is many years old now and going strong. I even use the hose in the garage in place of a shop-vac (for dry jobs obviously) as it sucks harder than any shop-vac I've used.
The first time you use it on a rug or room it might fill the canister 100% full because your old vac (even my other one, the Dyson) was missing/couldn't reach so much.
Instead of using soap/water to clean the filter (it takes FOREVER to dry), use compressed air.

Does an excellent job of vacuuming my high pile carpet. It is relatively easy to clean the different filters as well as emptying the debris.

5 years ago, we purchase this vaccum to clean a rental unit, it worked so good we bought a second one!..I LOVE the washable filters!..I have even recommended it to friends. so, recently I bought another one for home use; was disappointed at the changes that have been made..mostly because the cord is much shorter, but the whole unit also seems to be smaller?...I am going to switch them around today and will see if my perceptions are fact....

We got this vacuum for a Christmas present and it worked for a couple of uses. It now hardly sucks up anything. Certainly it was affordable but don't waste the money. Better off just putting money away until you can afford something that actually works!!

With two boys, a dog, an active family, and hardwood floors, our old vacuum got quite the workout. After 6 years of having a Bissell with a bag, we decided to give a canister vac a try, and I am so glad we did.
This vacuum not only cleans hardwood floors extremely well, but it also cleaned our area rugs beyond our expectations. I am slightly embarrassed by how much dirt and dog hair our area rugs were holding - even though they looked clean and were vacuumed regularly. The rugs feel softer and brand new. A great feature of of this vacuum is the three levels that the handle/canister can be moved to. The lowest level available is fantastic for cleaning under beds, tables, and couches. The suction of the vacuum and of the hose is also something that I was very impressed with. With some vacuums, the floor suction is fantastic and then the hose/attachment suction is not as good. Thankfully, we didn't see a difference with this set up.
The quality, price, and ease of use is exactly what we were looking for. It is nice to know that Bissell still has its eye on quality machines and realistic pricing. I am definitely not hesitating to suggest this vacuum to my family and friends.

I thought my old vacume was doing a good job. But once my boyfriend got me this vacume for Christmas did I realize how bad the old vacume really was. It was sucking dog hair, dander, dust & dirt out of my carpets for days. I was horrified! My carpets look cleaner & newer. I will never get another brand. LOVE IT!!! THANK YOU BISSELL

I had this vacuum for over 6 years now and it works great. It actually picks up dog hair and all things on the carpet. I find myself washing filters a lot but but I have shedding pets which obviously means dander as well. When all is clean, the vacuum is awesome. I am actually getting new carpet and considering buying a new one (same model), but putting this one in the basement to vacuum in the basement. I want to have a dedicated vacuum for the basement so as not to haul it up and down the stairs. The cord is starting to show wear but other than that, you can't beat the price.

All of the people I know have pets. Dispite them having their top of the line vacs, their homes smell disgusting. Their carpets are NOT clean! When I bought this one, it took about FIVE cleanings in order to get to the point where the canister no longer had any dirt in it when I vacuumed. I had thought my Hoover was doing an impressive job. (NOT!) If you want your carpets and furniture to be CLEAN, get a Bissell.
I have a ChallengAir Double K high force dog dryer. When the filters are dirty, I take them out and to the dog-room and blow them clean with the force dryer. It works really well. Perhaps a shop-vac or something with a high force velocity would help for others. I only recommend this if you dont have time to wait for them to dry after washing. Its a good "lick and a promise" until you have time for wash/dry.

This vaccume cleans very well, and puts up with my 5 kids every day messes..the filter system is easy to clean and to maintain. The extra large cord is a huge plus. Its a low price to pay for a great buy! I absoluteely love my vaccume

I purchased my vacuum on black Friday. The price was amazing. This is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. I have a dog that sheds like crazy and I have to vacuum all the time. Due to the low price, I was not expecting the best. I was pleasantly surprised and love that I can take apart all the filters and was them, let them dry and put it back together. I would definitely buy another or give one as a gift. The perfect house warming present.

This vacuum rocks it is the king of geting dirt out of my carpet i have suck up bits of papper and no clog yat and my son loves to use it so ease to use and I have a Kirby that I have for years and it is so big and havey and this vacuum picks up way more dirt I just can't say bad thing about it even if it breaks I would buy another. Bissell makes great vacuums thank you bissell :) and p.s people need to watch what thay suck up and it would not clog.

While it starts out affordable, it literally becomes useless after the first couple of uses. Even after cleaning everything thoroughly hoping it will help, it's only good for one thing, the trash. Save your money and research before you buy.

I just got mine today and tried it out as soon as i got home. Was so easy to put together and it picked up soooooo much dust and nastiness my other vacuum had been missing. It was nasty. So glad I got this vacuum, so far it was amazing

This vacuum worked well until I cleaned the filters and the hose. I made sure everything was put back in the correct place (I videotaped myself cleaning it.). Also, I thoroughly cleaned the hose so I am confused why it is not using up anything and why dirt and dust blows everywhere when I lift the hose. Other than this issue I love the vacuum and will continue to trust the Bissell brand.

This has been a great vacuum for the price. The washable filters really make a difference. All of the vacuums I have had in the past have ended up smelling "doggy". We have a German Shedder and a Shepherd mix so this time of year, our house is hair central. This Bissell takes it all and doesn't lose suction. It is super easy to take the cup and filters apart for washing and no problem to reassemble. Bottom line, For us this product is better than others that cost a great deal more.

In Dec. 2011 we purchased one. By the end of Jan. the belt had broken and we took it back b/c belts don't break in 30days, nor did we want to get dirty so soon. The new vacuum with the new belt lasted 3 months! We will change this one only b/c we threw the box away. However, if the belt breaks again within the next 3 - 4 months, we will throw this away and go with a different brand altogether.

No, it's not a DYSON or Electrolux at $50 but I have been very happy with mine. I think it picks up as much dirt as my $275 Kenmore and is much, much easier to move and lift. I don't understand the complaints about clogging. It's quite user serviceable and the many stage filter is easy to remove and clean/replace. The hose and attachments aren't much but are better than none (which some more expensive vacs have (or don't !) All in all I think it's unfair to expect Mercedes performance for a Kia price.

My mom bought one at Walmart for under $50.
She has two small dogs that shed...a lot. Their fur seems to hide in the carpet. She used the vacuum once and I was sold...Vacuum sucked up a ton of fur from a seemingly clean carpet.
Did it again - MORE fur!
One the 3rd try, there was no more fur.
This thing SUCKS- and I mean that in a good way!
Mine died after less than a month.
I was using it on a rug and it caught the edge of the rug and inhaled the "rug rope."
I turned it off and pulled the vac up in the air to get the rug rope out but the motor in the spinner was already smoking and it would not work after that.
I reacted quickly too, but it died right there.
LESS THAN A MONTH of light use!!
My mom's machine is still going strong with 3x daily use!
I was going to buy another one but I bought a EUREKA instead. It's not as easy to use & I'm thinking of returning it. But at the time, the thought of spending another $50 for a Bissell vacuum that only lasted a month didn't appeal to me.

This is the second Bissell that I have purchased. I purchased this particular one because it is bagless and you can see when it it time to empty the compartment. The powerful suction is amazing!!!!! It picks up dirt, pet hair etc. I am glad I made the purchased!!

I bought this vacuum because I didn't want to deal with a bag. It was great at first. It sucked up everything. Now I have been having problem after problem. I have to clean a clog out the hoses weekly. It's a mess to clean out. I have to beat the hose against the garbage to get the clog out.

I bought this vacuum thinking it would be the best for my house, well I was wrong. after 2 vacuums it clogs then I spend an hour unclogging the thing. my vacuum is not 6 months old, if I could return it I would I am no longer impressed with anything from Bissell.

The first thing I noticed was the cord isn't long enough, this is my 2rd Bissell vac, and for some reason the cord is shorter. And the other thing is my outer circular filter get lots of dog hair on it, then it makes the suction poor. I have to take it outside and bang the filter on something to get it off. I only have 1 short hair dog that dont leave much hair, on the floor, and I do vac everyday. But that filter gets alot on it in a short time, plus it smells so you need to wash it with soap and let it dry completely.

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned! I've bought the more expensive vacuums and they don't work half as good as this one. I clean houses and I use this vacuum 5 days a week. I have banged it around and ran into things with it and it keeps on going and picks up wonderfully! It isn't too loud and it is very light weight and easy to carry up and down stairs. The filters are easy to remove and wash and air dry and put back on so you don't have to go out and keep buying them. I've bought one filter in the whole 4 years I've owned this vacuum. As long as you keep it cleaned out, it wont lose suction. You will be amazed at what all it will get off your floor. I have a lab and it fills the container up every 2-3 days when I vacuum! I have recommended this vacuum to 3 of the people i clean for and all of them are completlely satisfied as well! They love it! It is such a good vacuum for such a little price. I've used the $400 vacuums and I can tell you, this one is just as good! Definately worth it and I can't see where anyone would only give one star! The only thing this one is not good at is picking up off of hard wood floor or kitchen floors. If you are using it for carpet, it is perfect. It also doesn't lean down to get underneath beds very well like other vacuums do but I'm telling you, this is such a great purchase! I've definately gotten my moneys worth out of it because I've had it for over 4 years and it is still running.
