Rated 5 out of 5 by sheerladybug Love this little sweeper!!!
I have used this little sweeper for the last 2 years on my laminate floors after my daughter convinced me to buy one and I absolutely love it. I am seriously thinking about buying another one in case mine quits someday and for the price you cant beat it . It is so lightweight , easy to use and easy to store. I hope Bissell continues to carry this great little product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brenda Works better on dog hair than my more expensive name brand vac.
When I bought this vacuum, I was specifically looking for something light-weight that was convenient enough to use daily, powerful enough to pick up pet hair and light dirt from three Leonbergers and one cat, without brushes. I only have hardwood and tile, and was tired of having to pull the dog hair off my big vac brushes every two minutes.
This vac does exactly that and it does it really well. I use this vac every day or two to zip through a large house with two sets of stairs in 10-15 minutes to keep all the pet hair and fine dirt picked up. My deeper bi-weekly cleaning goes faster because the big vac doesn't get clogged up.
This vac isn't a work-horse, nor did I expect it to be. But it's perfect for what I bought it for. My only complaint is that I'd like a longer cord.

My first one lasted 2 years. That one was great. The second one will be trashed due to the wheels. They make horrible marks on my floors. Not sure if it is the design of the total wheel assembly or cheaper materials. Don't have time to go through my whole house and take all of the marks off the floors every time I use it. No convenience here. Shopping for a new one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Robert Major design flaw ruins durability
I am a 49 year old mechanical engineer. I initially purchased one of these three or so months ago and was rather impressed with it - particularly for the price.
The handle fell off today during normal use.
I then disassembled the unit to discover that the entire handle is
'secured" with two # 8 screws (a major diameter of just 0.17") that are a mere 1" long. These thread from within (not visible unless the unit is disassembled) and thread directly into soft plastic. As a minimum, Bissell could have employed two stamped steel thread clips (about 2 cents each) that are designed specifically for such use. They didn't bother, although even that would have have been insufficient.
Total use of mine was perhaps 2 hours, prior to the described failure. I fixed mine by removing the rattling screws and using two steel band (e.g. "hose") clamps. The clamps wrap around the outside of the unit (near the carry handle area) and tightly "sandwich" the handle in place.
It now feels much more rigid than before and I suspect it will last for the "lifetime" of the unit itself - whatever that is.
Most people will simply dispose of their units in over-crowded landfills and then go back to brooms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frog4n6 Handle busted during first use!
Blatant design flaw with this vacuum. The handle/body busted off from the lower piece 10 minutes into my very first cleaning job. I was being GINGER with it. as you would be with any new product. Read the reviews online elsewhere for this vacuum. 30% of users report breakage of this vacuum within the first few weeks of ownership.
Complete piece of junk. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vac man For the money its Great.
I've had the Power Edge for 3yrs now and I have to say its been great. We use this for the whole house. If anyone out there has issue's with this vacuum, remember it has 2yr warranty. I do not have carpet in my home, however a few rugs and I can tell you that its ok on carpet but not really the best, so you may want to shake rugs outside for better cleaning. If you have carpet in your home don't buy this vacuum its really for hard floors. We may get a second one due to changing out filters a lot, small filter and needs to be cleaned after every time you use it for the whole house. Then I'd say replaced every 3mths due to smells, we have dogs by the way lol. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I never give anything 5stars lol,

This vacuum does a good job of sucking the fur off the floor, although the cat hair does give it a bit of a run for its money on the edges of the carpeting. The wings (the head/suction area) get in the way when trying to clean up to the carpet edging. You can't get close enough to get the dirt and even if you get the area of the vacuum where the suction is greatest directly over the edge of the carpet its just not strong enough to suck up the dirt. I only manage to 'sweep the dirt under the carpet' so to speak. ; ) The other problem I see with the shape of the head/suction area you can't get into corners where the hair and dirt inevitably winds up. The wing tips can sort of get in, but there is little to no suction to remove the debris once you've maneuvered one of the tips into said corner. Then there is the problem of overheating. I've had this vacuum for three years, however for two of those years I thought it was broken. Whenever I tried to use it it would overheat and just shut down. I'd put it aside and forget why I stopped using it then try it again to find it shutting down again. Its now on the list to go to the dumpster. It takes up space and only works for short periods of time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ed PowerEdge PET Hard Floor Vacuum 81L2T Needs Improvement
I use it daily to clean my hardwood floors. Below our my thoughts:
Good points: It does pick up dog & cat hair. Very light weight.
1. I don't like the swivel capability. If it had a lock to lock it in place I would use it.
2. The cord is too short which requires me to constantly unplug and plug it back in.
3. It will not vacuum under a lot of furniture as well as under my bed. The design will not let you keep the vacuum horizontal to get under the furniture. It lifts the suction end up which breaks the suction.
4. The head design makes it hard to vacuum in tight spaces for inside corners.
