Rated 5 out of 5 by okctrouble saves my dogs life
I have had pets forever but this is the first time with all hard wood floors. Swept and swept. Was about ready to shave the Rottweiler then Someone loaned me another brand. worked ok but way pricey. Daughter suggested this one. Wonderful price so bought one. WOW WOW WOW It has saved my dogs life and my sanity. I am 67 years old and it took me all day to sweep. Now it takes an hour and it not only gets up hair but dander and gravel from the dirt road. I would buy another tomorrow if this broke today. Waiting for a hard wood floor cleaner priced right and between the two I could get this all done in a day Thanks Bissell!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grammy02 Does exactly what designed to do!
This vacuum picks up animal hair, dust and dirt. It gets along walls and around furniture. It's powerful but light weight. Have used it for about a month. FOr optimum satisfaction some adjustment in how one vacuums helps. The dirt needs to be in front of the vac, so in a large room go one way with the grain turn around, move over and go the other direction. If small area, move vac forward, then back over same area, move over and repeat. Angle the vac down walls so that point of head is against the wall. Had vinyl plank floors installed in December. Have indoor pets and live on wooded, iron ore dirt hill. Dust mop and swiffer will not get all pet hair and grit. Vac gets all of it. It does NOT work well on area rugs with any pile. Does OK on flat, small mats. The cord is rather short but any longer would be too bulky to store on this vac. Frankly, I ordered hesitantly as some cons were of concern however I find none of those issues were of any concern here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mj123 easily clogs up
was so hopeful for this to work, i have 1 cat and 3 dogs...but in the 3 times i've used it it has clogged up twice. first time i was able to remove the middle part and get the clog clear with my hand. this second time of clogging i cannot reach the clog, it seems to be high in the arm where the floor debris gets sucked up and into the middle container. i've removed the parts and the base of the vacuum, or where the debris is sucked up, but still no luck. i'll try to call service for assistance, but not thrilled with this issue. frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Carmen c wheels are garbage
I loved this vacuum. ...till the wheels started locking up...I need to use this vacuum every day and after 3 months the wheels wouldn't turn anymore. Had to rig them so they would spin but now they fall off all the time. I want to purchase another but I am scared the same will happen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sheerladybug Love this little sweeper!!!
I have used this little sweeper for the last 2 years on my laminate floors after my daughter convinced me to buy one and I absolutely love it. I am seriously thinking about buying another one in case mine quits someday and for the price you cant beat it . It is so lightweight , easy to use and easy to store. I hope Bissell continues to carry this great little product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brenda Works better on dog hair than my more expensive name brand vac.
When I bought this vacuum, I was specifically looking for something light-weight that was convenient enough to use daily, powerful enough to pick up pet hair and light dirt from three Leonbergers and one cat, without brushes. I only have hardwood and tile, and was tired of having to pull the dog hair off my big vac brushes every two minutes.
This vac does exactly that and it does it really well. I use this vac every day or two to zip through a large house with two sets of stairs in 10-15 minutes to keep all the pet hair and fine dirt picked up. My deeper bi-weekly cleaning goes faster because the big vac doesn't get clogged up.
This vac isn't a work-horse, nor did I expect it to be. But it's perfect for what I bought it for. My only complaint is that I'd like a longer cord.

My first one lasted 2 years. That one was great. The second one will be trashed due to the wheels. They make horrible marks on my floors. Not sure if it is the design of the total wheel assembly or cheaper materials. Don't have time to go through my whole house and take all of the marks off the floors every time I use it. No convenience here. Shopping for a new one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Robert Major design flaw ruins durability
I am a 49 year old mechanical engineer. I initially purchased one of these three or so months ago and was rather impressed with it - particularly for the price.
The handle fell off today during normal use.
I then disassembled the unit to discover that the entire handle is
'secured" with two # 8 screws (a major diameter of just 0.17") that are a mere 1" long. These thread from within (not visible unless the unit is disassembled) and thread directly into soft plastic. As a minimum, Bissell could have employed two stamped steel thread clips (about 2 cents each) that are designed specifically for such use. They didn't bother, although even that would have have been insufficient.
Total use of mine was perhaps 2 hours, prior to the described failure. I fixed mine by removing the rattling screws and using two steel band (e.g. "hose") clamps. The clamps wrap around the outside of the unit (near the carry handle area) and tightly "sandwich" the handle in place.
It now feels much more rigid than before and I suspect it will last for the "lifetime" of the unit itself - whatever that is.
Most people will simply dispose of their units in over-crowded landfills and then go back to brooms.
