I purchased this vacuum a little over a year ago and have had nothing but problems since! It has trouble picking up even the tiniest piece of dirt with one rollover and when it does pick up it starts spitting things out even when the bin isn't full! I've already taken it to a service center once and they have found zero problems. Reading the reviews I guess I'm not the only one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Yia Yia Pet Hair Eraser vacuum doesn't seem to be very effective
I have had this vacuum just under 2 years. When I first bought it, I loved it and was amazed at how much suction it had and how full the cup always was. My carpet had never been cleaner. However, now when I vacuum, the cup never seems to have anything in it. I can't seem to find my owner's manual to see if I can figure out the problem. Is it possible to get a manual replacement? I was so pleased with this vacuum when I first used it, but now I'm disappointed.

I bought a new belt for my vacuum, thinking this will fix the problem but NOT the belt still slipping off and the brush roll turn freely with the flick of a finger. I really lost my money.

We bought this vacuum around one year ago and I should have returned it within the first 10 days of use. It is literally the worst vacuum as far as suction and ease of use. The attachments are hard to get on and do not spin well at all (the minute you barely touch the surface, the rotations stop). I find the attachments difficult to get on and store on the vacuum and now I just never use them. It has zero suction even though my husband and I have thoroughly checked for clogs and all of the filters. It won't even pick up a Cherrio or a small piece of paper. Also when I remove the hose to vacuum floorboards and baseboards, it spits the dust right back out into the air! If it gets clogged with as small of an area I use it in, then it is very poorly designed. I get more and more frustrated with this vacuum the longer I have it. I will not recommend this product to anyone.

I purchase a similar model a few years ago. I also own an electrolux cannister and a central vac. I wanted something that would pick up my dog's hair. I was amazed at how much dirt my other cleaners left on my carpet. This cheap little cleaner picked up more dirt and dust than the other two!! My favorite thing is that I can do yearly maintenance on the pet eraser by merely ordering the parts from this website. Love it!!!

The vacuum itself works fine but only for about 5 minutes at a time before throwing the belt off. I've replaced the belt multiple times and it just doesn't make a difference. It's never worked and I'll never buy another Bissell product. I would have rated the product lower if possible.

Really like my Pet Bissell, yet it seems to get more noisy after 2 years of usuage. All parts are clean, clear and working, just sooooo noisy with vibration felt in the handle when using. It is now louder than my lawn mower.

I had an issue with my vaccuum kicking back sand/dirt onto my feet and when I took the hose off to use an attachment, it blew out dust instead of suctioning it. I came on this website and saw similar complaints, but also read the responses from Bissell. From their responses, I realize that my vacuum was clogged, up in the wind tunnel. I didn't know that I could remove the upper portion to clean, but learned that here. Although, it was extremely messy to clean, it is fixed. I am giving it a 4-star rating because of the mess it makes when cleaning it and when emptying the canister. Next vacuum I get will not be bag-less, but I can say overall, I am happy with it!

This vacuum was picking up dirt in the first 6 months of purchased. After that, it was all downhill. I have cleaned and changed the filters and the power to pick up debris is still deteriorating. I don't mind cleaning up the messy plastic bucket, but all the dust and dirt would come out after you would release the plastic container. Not very well designed, but a catchy name for a pet hair vacuum. I am dissapointed that the power to pick up debris had gone south.

Have had this vacuum for a couple years now, still has fantastic suction. Turbobrush is great, and the pet hair lifter works nicely. Also, the cleaning wand doubles nicely as a lightsaber for naughty 5 year old boys. :)

Had this vacuum for about two years now and all of a sudden the belt keeps slipping off. It will run for about 30 seconds then the belt slips off.

I haved had this vacuum for less than 2 years and this is actually our 2nd model. The vacuum is not picking up debris and the filter indictator is saying to clean filter. I have taken out all filters and cleaned them The vacuum is still not picking up the debris, the container is emtpty???

I bought this vacuum just one year ago and it only worked well the first three months. I have two cats and thought it would be perfect, but I saw no special ability to pick up pet hair. The suction power quickly deminished after the first three months. THis vacuum is very messy creating dust everywhere when you empty it. Dirt and pet hair accumuilate in the top of the canister and it is a pain to constanntly clean it out. I would NOT recommend this vacuum to anyone. It is a waste of money at this point. I am going out to buy another vacuum today :(

I have had this vacuum for about a year. It was difficult for me to give it a rating. The reason why is because it does pick up very well and cleans the carpet to my satisfaction. The BIG PROBLEM is the cleaning of the machine every time you use it. The canister does retain much of the debris that is vacuumed up but when you come to empty it you realise that on the outside of the canister and all up through where the vortex is housed is full of fine dust about the consistency of talcum powder. I have to spend aproximately 15 mins to clean the vacuum cleaner on the inside after every use. Today I just reached the limit of my patience when a clot of this fine dust fell out of the vortex when I was dismantelling it to clean. It went all over the floor that I had just vacuumed and into the surrounding air enough to give me an unpleasant coughing fit. I have to use an old toothbrush and Q tips to effectively clean this machine. However this machine is going in the trash can today I simply have had enough.

I purchased this vacuum two years ago and it has been a nightmare ever since!! I have a golden retriever, who sheds constantly, and four children. I initially thought that this vacuum would be wonderful for my household. I couldn't have been more wrong. When you need to empty the cannister, the entire vacuum needs to be cleaned along with the surrounding living area. Pet hair and dirt gets stuck to the upper cannister area and falls down as the cup is being removed. It is a downpour of dust and fur that flies everywhere. Once that mess is cleaned up, there are the filters that need a constant cleaning. I use the hose and wand alot. It took a sunny day for me to see the dust/dirt that was coming out of the sweeper when the hose was removed. I don't even want to think of the dirt, dust and allergens I put back in the air for my family to breathe. I don't have the time to reclean what I have already vacuumed. This product might be fine for short-haired animals, but not for long haired ones (which was pictured on the box). Switching to another brand tomorrow.

I do agree that it is good at picking up all of the dog hair from our 2 dogs, when it's not constantly clogged. But when it comes to emptying the canister it makes more of a mess than it cleans up!!! Because the removable canister is the smaller one and all of the dirt from the bigger stationary one on top falls down. I try to hold a grocery bag undeneath when removing but still end up with a bunch of dirt on the vacuum, floor and myself. Common sense would have told the designer the removable canister should be the bigger one! Spend the extra $ and buy a Dyson!

I LOVE THIS VACUUM!! I have had it for almost 4 years! It, like all other vacuums, will stop picking up as well BUT you have to clean the filters regularly AS WELL AS change the pet eraser on the front of the vacuum. These things do not last forever. It is like a car you have to maintain the condition of it. I have 6 inside dogs and NO OTHER vacuum works like this one does. I do not want any other vacuum and i would not recommend any other for people with inside pets!!!

Well I bought a new drive belt and vacuum works like brand new highly recommend this vacuum to any and all read the manual like most people who didn't who wrote reviews And you won't be disappointed, so happy i changed drive belt like the manual said they only last about a year and I probably got two years out of my drive belt got a two pack at Walmartcheapskate cheap price thank you Bissell for an awesome vacuum!!! Can't wait to vacuum tomorrow the suction is back!!!

We have two long haired cats with lots of shedding.The vacuum worked great the first year, great suction and loved the attachements one that we use on the steps which my fiance loves. I love the vacuum but lately it has lost suction tremendously. However from reading the other reviews sounds like most people have not read the manual. I for one think that the maintenence for this vacuum is quite simple. Clean the rotating brush, clean the filters, empty the canister, and clean the upper part of canister and your in for a long term vacuum. Just recently the suction began to go, as well as the rotator brush does not want to rotate. I have cleaned the floor brush multiple times from hair,string, etc, basically everytime I vacuum now I check the brush because the loss of suction . This is why my rating today is only 3 stars. I have checked everything to try to understand why the suction is not there from the floor brush, to the upper tank, drive belt, I have checked for clogs, the hose, the height adjustment,the pre and post motor filters. I have checked the vacuum after attempting to vacuum and the drive belt gets very hot over a short amount of time. Im wondering if it is the motor overheating. I am working on replacing the belt Im just hoping that this is the cause of the problem. I will post another review if the replacement of the belt does not work forcing me to buy another vacuum. : (

My mother has had several vacuums in her life time due to having pets. I forever would tell her to try Bissell well guess what? After her last vacuum bit the dust, I bought her her first bissell. She was AMAZED at the suction her new vac had and what her other vacuums didnt have! The removal of the louver is a little harder to reach and put back in. If all models had the feature to be removeable like the Lift-Off Revolution Pet Vac louver chamber this would be a superior vacuum but still Well done Bissell, from a loyal customer and now a new happier customer. Sometimes daughters do know best! LOL

I really enjoy the ease of having the on board attachments! I had a Kirby prior and that thing was just a pain! We have 2 cats and the Pet Hair Eraser does a good job. I purchased my vacuum just over a year ago, a couple of months ago the hose collasped rendering the unit useless. I contacted BISSELL and they replaced the hose completley free of charge! Excellent customer service!

Bought this 3 years ago when we bought our house. I worked great in the beginning. Just like everything else in life, it does need to be taken apart and cleaned once in a while. I have replaced the belts a couple of times and should probably replace the filters. I agree with the reviews that it does not perform well on hard floors. It will shoot dirt at your toes and it is simply easier to use a broom.
The only concern I really have is when I use the attachment hose. I disconnect the hose from the canister and while using the hose, dirt and hair will fly out the back. My husband will stick a rag in the opening just to improve the suction. Am I missing something here? My old vacuum had a flap that closed when I used the hose.

I have had this unit for about 4 years! Sadly, it is time to retire this loyal workhorse. I have two dogs that shed all the time. I use this on my living room and fill the canister about 3 times with dog hair! I have loved this unit from the start. We have had our dark times with clogs and cord fraying, but it has cleaned our floors when I thought nothing else would.

complete piece of JUNK! if you like an extra heavy, useless item this is for you. if you like going over the same piece of dirt 13 or more times, only to find its behind you again go ahead and waste ur monies. the only thing it does pick up well is pet hair, which clogs up the upper area and you have to use a coat hanger to unclog, cus there is no way else to reach it. not to mention if you like wasting money on filters instead of bags, this is the one for you. if you only have carpets then go ahead, really bad on hardwood floors and the hose has little suction. Overall Junk!!!

This vacuum would be great if it didn't clog all the time. When the vacuum isn't clogged up, then it does better than any other we've had. However this vacuum keeps clogging and clogging and clogging. Does anybody know what we can do about the clogging?

I bought this vac after my other one died...omg the dirt left behind by the other vac was just awful, this thing gets up all the dirt and pet hair! I have to empty it all the time, just to vac the living room, I empty it 3 times! It's awesome, the best vac I've had in 15 years. The only downside, I wish the dirt container was a little bigger, other than that, theres no complaints at all!

I have had this vacuum for over a year and not at all satisfied with it. I have 3 cats and thought this would be a good vacuum for the house. We have hard wood floors and moving from carpet to the floor, even adjusting the level to bare floor, I could feel it throwing dirt and litter back onto my feet. The suction for the attachments is so poor it is not even worth using. The hair itself has clogged every corner in the tubing. I've had to take it apart mutiple times to unclog it. The price for this was ridiculous considering I now have to spend money on yet another vacuum.
