I just got my new Lift -Off multi pet vacuum yesterday and could not wait to get it out of the box. I was ready to have problems putting it together from some of the reviews I read but that was not the case. Really didn't even have to look at the manuel. Two screws and everything else just clicks into place. The first thing I did was my hardwood floors and then took off the canister and did my carpeted stairs. What a pleasure. My old canister vacuum did not have a stair attachment, the cord was not long enough as my stair case is a U shape with two landings. I would have to do them in sections. First the top, plugged in upstairs and then carry everything down and re-plug in downstairs and work my way back up. Hated the stairs. Now with my new vacuum the cord is long enough that I can vacuum part of the hall on the second floor. My stairs will be vacuum much more now. Also love having all the tools on board. My last canister I had to change the hose from carpet to hard surface also had to go and get attachments when I needed them. If it's that much work your not always going to do the best job. The Crevice tool is long and narrow which is great for getting into the lint trap in the dryer. Also like the telescoping extension wand, make it whatever size you need. So looking forward to vacuum everything.
The other nice feature is the dirt that I got up was the real fine stuff, that you see under your carpet when you are replacing it. The suction is great! Love my Vac!

This vacuum cleaner is the best! This is my third one, only because my two sons borrowed the other two and liked them so well that they did not want to return them. My husband for some reason thought I needed a "more expensive" vacuum cleaner for Christmas last year. I went as long as I could without my Bissell Lift-Off and ended up ordering another one last month. Still love my Bissell Lift-Off!

I have had this vacuum for several years and I can't believe how well it gets the dog hair up! I am currently staying in my mothers house with my dog and her two vacuums could not and would not pick up the hair off the rug. Just pushed it around. When my husband came up to visit I asked him to bring the Bissell vacuum!!! I tossed out my mothers 2 since they were worthless in picking anything up. I am home for the holidays and have had to use a rarely used Hoover that was in basement. I can't stand the Hoover!!! Needless to say I asked for a new Bissell vacuum for Christmas!! YES I did ask for a vacuum for Christmas!!! I love that I can lift it off to get the dog hair off the steps!!! It is great getting the dog hair and debris in the car as well!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by spongebob234 Great performer! Can compare to a commercial vacuum!
This is a good vacuum all in all. great suction E.T.C. the problems i had with it was a belt giving out, brush roll freezing in place (had to replace), the tilt button does not lock vacuum in place anymore (does not stand up), and last a headlight giving out. 4 problems in 4 and a half to 5 years. not bad. i just hope i can fix or replace the pedal to make the tilt lock again :( thank you Bissell!

Rated 1 out of 5 by JMP222 Worst vacuum I have ever had the misfortune to use
I bought this vacuum about 2 years ago because of the pet feature. I have 2 cats, 1 short-haired and 1 long-haired. The long-haired cat's fur clogs the hose and wraps around the roller bar, making it stutter during each use. I have to stop, turn it on its side and clear the roller. Then, when I remove the canister to empty it, the fur and litter goes all over, so there's a bigger mess than when I started.
It's also heavy and unwieldy, hard to manuever. Maybe in a bigger area with little or no furniture, it would be useful, but in a small condo, it's not. The so-called "dual-edge cleaning" does not pick up well, so I have to go back around the edges of the walls and furniture with the attachment. I usually don't bother using the vacuum at that point because I'm so disgusted with it.
You can't vacuum under the dining room chairs or any other furniture on legs because the canister prevents the vacuum from going under more than a few inches.
I am looking for a canister vacuum at this point, something like the one I had for about 20 years before it had to be thrown out and I bought this Bissell upright. When I find the one I like, this Bissell will be in the dumpster. Good riddance!

I am a long time Bissell customer. I just got the 89Q9 pet vac and so far I am very happy with it. My only complaint is that it's heavier than my last Bissell. I like the tools and especially the lift off ability.
The final reason I went with the Bissell was the Bissell Pet Foundation. I am a huge supporter of animal rights and the fact that you donated part of the $ from my purchase is fantastic. Thank you for being socially responsible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by punkit good vac, but pet brush doesn't stay
The vacuum works great. We have two cats and a dog. The pet brush doesn't necessarily perform as good as we had hoped - It doesn't get everything off our (microfiber) sofas. And, make sure you have a big rubber band to keep it attached to the handle. Ours NEVER stays in.....rather irritating.
ps - entering this information Bissell asks what surface top we use this for....everything. wood floor, tile, dusting, carpet, rugs, upholstry.....

Cleans great...can't believe how much dirt the cleaner gets out of the carpet! Out performs every other cleaner we've ever had. This is our first Bissell...wish we had bought one years ago!
