I just got my new Lift -Off multi pet vacuum yesterday and could not wait to get it out of the box. I was ready to have problems putting it together from some of the reviews I read but that was not the case. Really didn't even have to look at the manuel. Two screws and everything else just clicks into place. The first thing I did was my hardwood floors and then took off the canister and did my carpeted stairs. What a pleasure. My old canister vacuum did not have a stair attachment, the cord was not long enough as my stair case is a U shape with two landings. I would have to do them in sections. First the top, plugged in upstairs and then carry everything down and re-plug in downstairs and work my way back up. Hated the stairs. Now with my new vacuum the cord is long enough that I can vacuum part of the hall on the second floor. My stairs will be vacuum much more now. Also love having all the tools on board. My last canister I had to change the hose from carpet to hard surface also had to go and get attachments when I needed them. If it's that much work your not always going to do the best job. The Crevice tool is long and narrow which is great for getting into the lint trap in the dryer. Also like the telescoping extension wand, make it whatever size you need. So looking forward to vacuum everything.
The other nice feature is the dirt that I got up was the real fine stuff, that you see under your carpet when you are replacing it. The suction is great! Love my Vac!

I have 2 giant Newfoundland dogs, each weighing over 200lbs. The amount of daily hair from these dogs defies description. They can trash your house in a matter of hours. So I consider this the ultimate test of any vacuum. The hair can generate enough static electricity to light a house. It embeds in any type of carpet deeply, as if growing roots into the pile. I have owned 3 Dysons, only to become disappointed after a few months of constant breakage. However, the suction on a Dyson made me keep buying them until I said no more wasting money on an expensive, unreliable product. I have had Bissell carpet cleaners which worked well, so I figured I would give one of your models a try. The vacuum assembled in just a few minutes, and within the first minute or so of vacuming I was impressed with the excellent suction and that the cannister was almost filled! The carpets looked like new. The ergonometric design of the handle, light weight and compact body made vacuming a breeze. The amount of attachments that come with this product add to the value and convenience. Also, the cannister removes in a second and fits back without effort.
Just a few negatives, which are minor:
The cannister fills up rapidly, they could have designed a larger one as compared to a dyson. So you need to constantly empty it.
Some of the attachments do not stay on the body while vacuming.
You have to bend over to remove the hose from the bottom of the body to fit on the attachments.
You have to clean the brushes several times also.
But because of the awesome cleaning power, I give this 4.stars.
Bissell, why not make a model with a metal brush? I have a panasonic upright which does not clean as well as this model, but a metal brush does not have to be cleaned often. hope this product lasts as the pet hair does not stick to it.
This vacuum passed my test of the ultimate pet vac in the first 5 minutes out of the box. . I would definitely recommend this model to anyone with a large, long haired breed that has gone through several vacuums.

I have had this vacuum for over two years now. I am always amazed at how much pet hair this vacuum sucks off the carpets. I like the detachable unit with handle when I clean above the tops of cupboards and furniture. It is easier to use than our 12 year old more expensive canister vacuum. In regard to maintenance, the premotor filter and secondary cyclone are easy to clean. I feel this vacuum has been worth the money so far.

I use this vacuum for cleaning new houses. I am cleaning up a lot of drywall dust and very fine stuff. It is durable and has great suction. The canister part helps with tight spaces and cabinets and drawers. I wont use any other kind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Love the Healthy Home I have never HATEd a vacuum but I HATE this one
The vacumm canister dumping sysyem is the worst I have ever seen. The vacuum suction has a lot of power, that works very well. However everytime you dump the canister the dirt falls back onto your floors and all over the vacumm. This is the worst design I have ever seen. The handle is not comfortable either, it makes your hadn hurt.
Bissell Please bring back the Healthy Home. IThe Healthy Home is the best vacuum I have ver used. I could not locate parts/filters for the Healthy Home or a new Healthy Home vaccumm.
Do not waster your money times or peace of mind on the LIFTOFF cyclonic Pet vaccum.

This has to be one of the best vacuum cleaners I have ever owned, which include Electrolux, Rainbow, Dirt Devil, & Hoover. After a couple of years, I let a family member borrow it b/c their vacuum had quit. When it was returned, I used it & noticed within 15 minutes that it wasn't picking up as usual, had a different sound, & got so hot that I couldn't touch the filter cover on the back. I took it apart, and there was a sock stuck in the very bottom of the hose where the cleaner "bends". After removing the sock, the vacuum never worked as it had before. I sold it to the family member that had borrowed it, explaining why it didn't work as well as it did. I am now trying to find one on sale.

I have had this machine for less than two years. I have had to have it repaired for various problems. Now it has lost suction, can't use the attachments, because there is not enough suction. I would purchase another Bissell product, but Not this one. I take good care of my "investments". I have become very adept at troubleshooting and fixing this machine myself. Have lost lots of time in regards toa maintaining this cleaner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MaineVacuumer A solid vacuum, nice features and attachments, but has some issues
I purchased the 89Q9 nearly two years ago from the most popular surplus website. Fortunately I bought the extended warranty from the site. The vacuum motor failed within a year and since it was under warranty I didn't crack the case to find out why or if it could be fixed until after the site refunded my money. They didn't want the machine back as it was too bulky and expensive for them to have shipped back at their expense. So I got store credit for that site. After I got the credit I opened the case and found the interior of the machine caked with Carpet Fresh. I'm not sure if the manual stated not to use those types of powdered deodorants but the Carpet Fresh dust was clearly too fine to be captured by the pre-motor filter and caked the motor and motor brushes up to the point of failure. I thoroughly cleaned the inside of the case and the motor and motor brushes and lubricated the motor brushes, cleaned and/or replaced all filters and the machine worked as good as new. So I guess I got a vacuum cleaner for free as I used the store credit for kitchen supplies :) We no longer use Carpet Fresh or the like and we haven't had a problem with the machine since. As long as you keep the filter maintenance up and don't vacuum too fine of dust (I would imagine drywall or concrete dust would kill the machine too) the machine should last for years.
