For my household this vac out performs some of the more expensive models I've owned. Easy to use and powerful pick up. The cord is long enough that I can plug in to one spot and go all over my house. I have stairs so the attachments and length of the hose are perfect. I have 2 kids 2 dogs 1 cat. I had a hard time finding a store that had this model in stock. Now I know why. I'm in love with this vacuum.

I have 4 kids and this vacuum gets put to the test everyday and passes with flying colors I love the way the brush stops when the handle is in the upright position hile using the attachments instead of spinning like my old one. Once again I LOVE THIS VACUUM!!!

When my Kirby finally died I decided to do some research and find a vacuum comperable or better than my old kirby. When I found this vacuum I was so excited! I have 4 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog, and an infant I babysit so I vacuum daily. When I brought this vacuum home I was in love. It did such an amazing job I was moving things around to clean more! But then I went to use the turbobrush, thats when I realized that my vacuum was missing the belt that went in the turbo brush. I thought that my husband just forgot to put it together right, but he said there wasn't a belt. We searched the box, but it was not there. I was going to exchange it at my local retailer, but they can't keep this vacuum on the shelf. The worst part was they also only had one on the way and couldn't hold it for me. So I thought I could just buy a new belt, but of course I can't just buy the belt, you have to buy the whole new brush. Pretty frustrated right now. I would rate this vacuum a 5 star vacuum if it wasn't for the missing belt.

I love this vacuum!! Great suction for all of our cat hair! But the vacuum will just turn off in the middle of vacuuming. After 10+ minutes it will work again but I'm not sure why it just goes off. It's not too hot because it's gone off after barely 5 minutes of use.

This is some monster vac.it works great,but it's to heavy,even put it on the highest setting your arms get tired quick and to heavy for the misses even to try to pick it up!But all in all I'm happy with it,but now I have to do all the floors in the house,the misses says it's to heavy for her to do!

Vacuum has amazing power and suction on both bare floor and carpet as well..the extra button for the brush is handy when i go from carpet to tile. I contemplated buying a Dyson for years but this is a WAY BETTER VALUE...better price and out performs! Thank you Bissell!

Vacuum is very heavy and awkward. 2 switches seem unnecessary. Long cord even a hassle. Trying to empty it is a dusty mess. Not really very happy with it, but hope it lasts as long as advertised--not returning it---to much hassle...........Built to last is all that sold me.....and lifetime belt........

ABSOLUTLY BEST VAC I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE SUCTION AND CLEANING POWER IS AWESOME. I AM VERY IMPRESSED TOLD MY FREIND ABOUT IT HE WENT OUT AND PURCHASED THE SAME MODEL. PUTS THE DYSON TO SHAME.ONLY PROBLEM IT WONT STOP SUCKING UP DIRT AND HAIR OUT OF MY CARPET.YOU CAN LOOK AT THE CARPET AND TELL IT IS CLEANER

I have white carpets. When I had them cleaned, the person recommended this vacuum. I immediately got online and ordered one. I love the extended handle for my 12 ft ceilings. My carpets never got clean so thoroughly. They are absolutely beautiful every day.

This is our second Bissell vac. It has many features that our last one did not: The separate brush action switch, the brush action does not engage unless the handle is lowered, better lighting, longer hose attachments, clear passageways that allow clogs to be easily seen, plus it runs quieter. Things that I would like to see in future design include: a less sensitive power switch or a little different location for the switch, and the foot activated device that releases the handle needs to be redesigned. It is harder to use than our previous model, but seems to be more rugged in design. Overall this is a great vacuum.

This vacuum has great suction and has gotten my dark blue and green carpets a darker shade than I even realized they were, picking up a terrific amount of fine dust that my last vacuum apparently left behind.
One drawback-- the brush turns off when the vacuum is locked upright, so you can't use it in an upright fashion on stairs (and it's almost too heavy to maneuver that way anyways). It comes with an upholstery/stair tool, but being much narrower, it takes a lot longer.

I recently had two vacuum cleaners (different brands) bite the dust, no pun intended, which left me vacuum cleanerless. I had been reading reviews of different vacuums. This Bissell Heavy Duty had great reviews so I bought it, though, some claimed that the weight was an issue and some said that noise was an issue. I found both to be non-issues for me. The last cleaner I had screamed like a banshee, it was like I had sucked up a cat. This Bissell whispers compared to that one. This one is a little heavier, but one should expect that with a beefier model, still, no where near the weight of professional cleaners. I wanted CLEAN and that is exactly what this MEAN machine does. If something goes wrong after the warranty, I have the option to order parts from Bissell. So many cleaners on the market today are disposable, no repair, just throw away. That makes my new Bissell a GREEN MEAN CLEAN machine. I like that!

I love the strong power of my BISSELL HEAVY DUTY. It was easy out of the box to the carpet. I specifically wanted a unit for rug cleaning. I use it across my hard wood floors and with just a push of a button stops the rug brush. My carpets look clean, but when BISSELL HEAVY DUTY comes out, it still pulls up some dust, dirt, nasty stuff that you could not see untill it was captured by my heavy duty rug sucking monster. I am very happy with it, excellent choice by myself. I like the solid feel of a well built product.

This is the best vacuum I've ever owned!! The first time I used it I could not believe the amount of dirt that was in our area rug, which I had just vacuumed with our older vacuum, our area rug looked brand new after I vacuumed with the Bissell. I also use this on our tile floors and it does a great job of getting up dog hair. You can not go wrong with this vacuum. I would highly recommend this product. My son, and my cousin have both purchased this vacuum after seeing the fantastic cleaning job in did in our home.

Just bought this vacuum tonight and it was easy to assemble. First use with it: suction is very strong and picks up very well. But after just 5 mins of use and light on it started strobbing like i was in a club and then it went out with no joy of coming back on. Why is it that they can not put a more reliable bulb in it. I guess i picked the lemon off the tree and now I know what you will say to take it to a repair shop and have them fix it when if u guys would make something that would last longer than i wouldn't have to waste my time, gas, and energy toting this thing in for a problem like this. So i might just be out the pocket and buy it. It is extremely heavy compared to all vacs I have ever owned but I might just have to get my forearms more in shape or something. This is not a vacuum for grandma. Other than that is all that i can say since i just bought it tonight.

I just need directions on how to take it apart and clean my filters. I've moved since I bought it last year, and the directions that came with it got lost. I can see that my filters clogged and it's not sucking like it should. But, when the filters aren't clogged this thing can about suck the nap out of the carpet which I think is a good thing. I love my Bissell!

I loved this vacuum because of it suction. I couldn't believe the dirt it picked up out of my upholstery and carpet. HOWEVER I had to return it because it was almost impossble for me to maneuver...even in the highest position. Even my husband commented on how hard it was to push. We decided we needed to find a similar vacuum that is self propelled.

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned.
Period.
Then it wasn't picking up like it used to ... so I took it apart and cleaned it and replaced the filters (which are sort of pricey) according to the instructions.
I finally realized the bottom hose had cracks where the spring allows it to flex. I mean A LOT of cracks. Can't order a replacement and not sure if this is a warranty repair or not.
Other than that its awesome! the attachments still work great and I love the extra long hose and cord. Plus being able to take it apart and wash all the superfine dust out of it is wonderful.
I have four large dogs - any vacuum that can keep up with the constant furr factory is all right with me!

I have been using Bissell products since I can remember, but this is by far the best vacuum I have ever purchased from them. I almost bought a Dyson as I had been using my mothers (testing it out) prior to getting this. However, I opted to stick with what I knew and stayed with Bissell. I am so glad I did. I had used the Dyson the previous day I bought this and, of course, had to try out my new toy the day I got it and I got an entire canister of dirt and dog hair that the Dyson didn't pick up!
Yes... it does weigh about 1000 pounds, but with the way it cleans it is so worth it!!
DISCLAIMER: I did have a problem about a year after I bought it with the bristles/brush not rotating. I called customer service and they took great care of me.

I have recently retired and have taken over a lot of the house hold duties around our home since my wife has gone back to work. I was vacuuming up to three times a week with our old vacuum (which cost more than the new one). We decided to purchase a new vacuum and much to our amazement, I was filling up the canister after vacuuming each room. It was hard to believe how poorly our old vacuum was working. Thanks for making such an amazing product and for such a reasonable price.

I purchased this vacuum cleaner a year ago and used it on the carpet in my apartment. I was surprised how much more dirt it picked up than my old vacuum cleaner. I recently moved into a home that had been previously occupied. The carpets appeared as if they had been vacuumed, but this cleaner still picked up so much dirt and dust that I needed to empty the cannister after each room I cleaned. My conclusion is this model performs much better than what the previous owners used. I have been very impressed at the cleaning ability of this machine.

If you have to vacuum everyday and get tons of dirt every time like i do, ( i swear dirt jus parties right after i vacuum lol) my son also has asthma as well as i do and this vacuum is the best hepa filter system ive ever seen..as much as i vacuum, i was going through 3 vacuum cleaners a year... that's alot...this vacuum is going on 5 months of my abuse and still is going...i totally recommend this vacuum to people that have asthma, emphysema or any other allergen or breathing problems ull never ever want another vacuum that's my guarantee :D

I like that it provides powerful suction, which I feel that it gives my carpets a deep cleaning. I like the on board tools and that it is easy to remove the dirt in the bin. The things that I don't like about it is the weight of the machine and that it's not easy to vacuum under furniture because of its bulkiness. You have to use the on board tools to vacuum under the furniture.

My family has had this old bagged hoover vac for YEARS and it has held up great. My grandma is in love with Dyson vacs and recently gave me one of her older ones when I moved into my apartment, but for some reason only the hose seems to work well... almost NO suction down under! :(
When shopping I was considering Hoover because it was in my price range but then remembered the cheaper and smaller (NOT heavy duty) Bissell vacs that I use at the large Recording Studio/Live Venue that I work at. This building is huge.. it is essentially a large warehouse (that should be a job for shop vacs or other commercial vacuums.) I remembered how surprised I was at how well they worked for cleaning such LARGE spaces so frequently.
With all of that in mind, When I saw this heavy duty Bissell at Wal-Mart and saw all of the features and the 5 year warranty to top it off it was a no-brainer! I am a convert!
