OK, I was a little put off at first trying to get things to fit/work. Embarrassed to say it was all User Error. Customer Service was great and graceful. (I couldn't get the wand extension to fit into the wrong end of the hose, trap/flap door wasn't operating properly because I was using the wrong end of the hose and the brush didn't rotate because I inadvertently pushed the Brush Off button.) Minor hurdles, but I got it sorted out.
I thought my old bag vacuum, that I purchased when I had a lot of carpet, was working just fine. I just wanted something to go over hardwood floors and transition to area rugs easy. My intention was to keep the Bissell downstairs and use the bag vac upstairs. I had just vacuumed my area carpets day before yesterday, got my new Bissell delivered today. Vacuumed my office carpet and filled up the canister with dust, dirt, pollen and loads of dog hair! I was appalled at how much my bag vac left behind. And, it has allergen control!
I am sold! And my bag vacuum is hitting the curb tomorrow for trash pick-up!
I don't find it too heavy as some have commented. It's lighter and quieter than what was using. I emptied the dirt 3 times tonight using the easy empty feature and didn't get any of it on me, went straight in the trash bin. Also, all the accessories fit securely, didn't have a single one fall off while in use.

I have allergies and this a great vacuum! I like it so much I got a second one for upstairs. No bags required. No hassel to assemble. Just dump the catcher cup and go. I will occasionally also blow the entire vacuum out with my husbands air compressor.
Mrs. Clean is very happy!

I have read some of the reviews and see quite a few operator errors! I love Bissell products and also the company; they can answer every question if you call them and if you need parts, they can get them to you quickly. I have a Bissell carpet cleaner that I love. I had given up on having my carpets cleaned by professionals and thought it was worth a try. Great move on my part. I also have a hard floor cleaner~also awesome. I have the Healthy Home Vacuum now and love it too. Works really well on my carpets.

cannotremove.bottom plate to remove hair from roller. This is a terrible design. Why do you have to take it to a shop to service the roller or replace the belt. No wonder they are not sellingthis anymore.

I reviewed this February 1, 2013 and was not happy with the suction of the attachments. I now know that it was a blockage I didn't realize was there. Apparently I picked up some leaves that got caught and stopped other items from passing. It still sucks but now in a good way! Sorry for the bad review.

I'M A YOUNG LADY ON MY OWN & PURCHASED THIS AS MY 1ST VACUUM. IT WAS EASY TO PUT TOGETHER WHICH WAS GREAT. DURING USE IT'S VERY NOISY BUT PICKS UP. ALSO IT'S A.LITTLE HEAVY SO BE CAREFUL WITH LIFTING.

I have two small dogs, one of them only has to walk around the room and he sheds, so I purchased a Bissell PowerEdge Pet. Up to now it has been superb. However, a few days ago I cleaned out the area where the dust and dirt collect; put everything back together, turned it on, and then found that although the motor is working, there is no suction whatsoever. I am taking it to my local repair shop and hope that it doesn't cost more to repair than it cost in the first place!

bought this vacuum less than a year ago. i just vacuumed part of my house and something popped inside the machine. i do not want to fork out more money for a new vacuum but i have no choice. i just checked the stores site and they no longer carry this model so i can't exchange it. no, i did not keep my receipt (wrong move) so i have no proof as to when it was purchased. i guess i'm off to a store (on a sunday) to see if i can replace my vacuum cleaner. not a happy camper......
