Although it does have enough suction, I second the motion for longer cords. In most of my rooms I have to plug in twice, and they are fairly small rooms . I have real wood floors, not laminate and the floor attachment seems to scrape along.I am retuning it to Lowes today
.Again, if you have tile, laminate or floors other than wood it would work well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GMAof2 I love this vacuum!
I, too, am surprised to read such a negative review.
I recently had wood laminate floors installed in my home, thus the purchase of this vacuum. Everything that I have read about the care of wood laminate says to use a vacuum with soft bristles. This vacuum not only has the softest bristles that I have found on any vacuum (they are like natural hair), but it has great suction.
Anyone who has ever had old carpeting removed knows that there is a crazy amount of dust that goes flying everywhere and sticks to anything. We also had wood dust that blew in and was tracked in during the new floor installation. I used this little beauty to clean up the dust not only on the floors, but also on furniture and walls. The suction is so great that it clings to and glides along the walls.
There are controls, on the wand, to temporarily power off and back on and the small attachments are also located on the wand. This allows for easily stopping the vacuum to change the attachment and for adjusting the power for delicate items such as draperies. A stroke of genius in design.
I have found the power cord to be plenty long. Certainly no shorter than any vacuum that I have owned and it retracts into the machine for convenience of storage with the press of a button. Another great feature!
That being said, this vacuum is for HARD floors (as the name indicates) and is next to useless on carpeting. I will be keeping my trusty Bissell upright for bedroom carpets.
The collection bin is indeed very small, but I don't have a problem with that as there should be less dirt and dust with hard floors as opposed to carpeting.

Ok, guess I'll be the tie breaker. I read both reviews from the ladies from California before I bought this vac today. It appeared to meet my needs so I decided to check it out. Well I agree with Elizabeth. This is and excellent vac and does exactly what it's designed to do. It removes dust, dirt and small debris from hard flooring and area type rugs. It's defiantly not for wall to wall carpeting. This little dynamo did great on my hard wood floors getting all the glitter left behind from Christmas packages. Worked well on my living room area rug too. Defiantly a keeper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Elizabeth Love it!
I'm surprised to read such a negative review! I just purchased this vacuum last night and I LOVE it. I love that the hard floor attachment has a spinning brush. As I vacuum I can feel it sucking on the tile. Also, I love how light it is. I do at least half of my vacuuming while holding my 22lb son in one arm. I like the ease of the swivel wheel on the canister, I like the telescoping handle. I can vacuum, reach my ceiling fans, and then lower the handle and my 5 year old can vacuum with it too! Also, I really love that you can turn it on and off at the handle. This function is very handy. I do think a longer cord would be a plus, but I do like that it is retractable. Last thing, I also like that the stick park is metal and not a flimsy plastic. Love this vacuum!

Rated 2 out of 5 by JaneMcM Good idea, poor performance
This vacuum is a joke. The cord is so short you have to plug and unplug as you go room to room. The suction, turned all the way up, is weak at best. Its performance on a small area rug was non-existent. On hard wood, I wanted it for dust, cat hair, and litter. It did only a passable job on any of them. The dust bin fills very quickly and needs emptying frequently. It does have a variety of tools, but none of them works well. The instruction manual is scant and you have to figure out how to remove and change things yourself. It is quiet, but that's because it has no power. I gave it two tries and I'm returning it.
