It's tough to de-clutter small spaces with little storage. Any tips?

One thing I learned is that every piece of furniture must service atleast 2 purposes. If you buy an ottoman, make sure it has a storage compartment. Same goes for your tv stands and even furniture if possible.

I never thought about the shelves idea. I will definitely use that. I have a forever cleaning husband so that helps a lot. I think storage bins are a great space saver. I even have one for just throwing anything and everything in it.

I lived in a very small apt. Shelves are a great idea, as previously posted. The pie-shaped shelves are good, too...they come separately, put one or more in a corner and turn the knob on the bottom and little pointy things come out, into the wall. I used them for displays and surround sound speakers. Newer ones are even lighted. If your bed is close to the floor, get leg extenders for an extra foot or so of space. The cloth covered cardboard "boxes" will fit there as well as space bags. Stores like Target have great shelves and over the faucet shelves for the bathroom and kitchen sinks. Wooden shelves from home improvement stores are fantastic.

Make places for all the necessary items. Like toilet paper, tampons, soaps, etc. When I get home from shopping I put the items in there place so I'll know where they are and what to look for. Making things managable makes life better. :)

Attractive storage containers do wonders. In the kitchen nice canisters allow you to store things on the countertop extending your storage space and keeping it from feeling cluttered. Our laundry room has no storage space so I store powder laundry detergent in a pretty glass jar. Our house doesn’t have space for an office so I created one in our dining room in a secretary desk. The front folds down for writing or typing, or can be closed when not in use keeping it contained and tidy.

In my living room I purchased Items that do two things. The TV stand has glass cupboards but I covered them with a curtain to hide all of the video game clutter. My coffee table has storage inside and can be turned over as a cushion or a tray.
