It's hard to do, but if I haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it.  When cleaning out a closet, make boxes for throw away, give away, and sale.

This year I have decided that if I don't use it - I'm getting rid of it.  We are doing some home improvements and all reusable construction/home items are going to go to Habitat Humanities ReStore - you get a tax break, they get items they can resell and the purchaser receives a product for a far less price than buying new.
