I try to look for the best deal for my buck .  How well is the suction and before I buy it, I would like to try it out before i purchase it and of course how long is the warranty???

I like what Mark says about buying an extra set of filters so you will always have a clean one. 12 amps for sure - anything less and it's too much work. The warranty is important and a really big thing for me is customer service hours. What days and time can I reach a live person if I need to? Nothing worse than having either only recorded info or a customer service center that's only open Mon-Fri when the rest of the world is working.

Suction is the biggest thing, because once I did get my new vaccum it was really scary how much my old one was NOT picking up!

I like to look for how long the product lasted with other people. Why buy something that only laster 6 months for someone else.

I would stick to Bissell because eureka's are junk and hoover's are terrible in quality now days.  I feel Bissell is the best name in floor care.  I always look for price of replacement filters and 12 amps of power.  I would read reviews as well and since most of Bissell's filters are washable I would buy another set so one can be wet but you can always use the vacuum.
