maybe for a handheld vac, but for a regular vacuum? probably not. You won't be able to get as much power to the motor as you would with a corded vacuum. plus once the battery life gets shorter,  you'll have to plop down more money

In my experience, no they don't work very well. They lose power quickly and never work as well as a corded vac.

We had three dust busters and they work great for a while but then the battery doesn't hold a charge for long so I don't think they are worth it.  I have seen the same thing with cordless stick vacs.
