I use the vicks air purifiers. They work the best with me & my allergy issues. I actually received mine as a gift, but from what I do know they definitely cost under $200.00.

I've had seven years worth of success with the Oreck Air Purifier.

I have a brand new aircleaner and I LOVE it.  I got it about 3 weeks ago now and I cannot believe the amazing difference.  When I walk into my house, it has that fresh after the rain smell and I no longer get sneezy, stuffed up nose while sleeping.  It is a Honeywell model HHT-145, and it is True HEPA with Ultra-Violet lights near the filter to kill the bacteria, as well as permanent HEPA filters that I are easy to clean with the brush attachment on my Bissell "Airtight HEPA" Healthy Home Vacuum, that way the crude in the filters does NOT get back into my house.  Then when I empty the dust bin on my Bissell, I take the bin outside and hold a plastic "store" bag around the outside and dump it in, then tie the bag and put it in the garbage can.  This air cleaner is amazing.. I have cut my dusting down from about every two days, to now with this Purifier everything stays dust FREE for over a week! I also sleep better, feel better and it just smells so much cleaner in my home.  This unit was about $159 at Target on sale.. not sure full retail, but it is worth every penny.  I bought a second one for the bedroom because it works so well.. it even Oscillates which in nice in the summer because the "clean" air then circulates through the room. Also the key is vacuum floors and carpets Often with a HEPA vacuum.  Good luck  P.S. Also this purifier has gotten rid of all those particles floating in the air, that I used to see when the sun would shine inside the house.
