I bought this machine a few days ago to replace an aging Hoover that was going bad on me. I got it home and had some trouble assembling it, but once I got it together and filled it up with some Spring Breeze and cleaned a musty area. When I was done, it was shiny again and spelled like a blossoming meadow. I tackled the stairs with the Professional Formula and it tore up the stains! The dirty water tank was BLACK; those stairs were had stains, dirt, etc all over them before and it looked and smelled like a gentle hill in the spring breeze when I was done. The lift off unit made it easy to clean the stairs and the heater added some incredible cleaning power along with the brushes. Even though it leaves behind fuzz clumps, I just collect them and throw them away after the carpet dries.

I got sick of renting a Rug Doctor and the cost of one was too unbearable. Therefore, looked at the competition and decided to I gave the Bissell Lift-Off Cleaner a chance. It was incredible, it took on dirt like I have never seen before. The first clean made our carpet look new again. The cost was great also!

I live with my daugter who has two children and we have a small dog. So, there is always something to be cleaned up. And, the Bissell is the bomb. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I love the 'spot bot' which makes it easy to clean spills and accidents.
I've used Bissell in the past and it surpasses all other cleaners. I couldn't have made a better choice when looking at price, cleaning ability, and ease of use.

This is my second cleaner I have purchased. My first one had a cracked hose on the lift off unit. I was fortunate that the store where I purchased it took it back and replaced it with the one I have now. I have used the lift unit and love it. Unfortunatly my puppy chewed my rubber gasket and clear cover for the bottom part, so I can't use it yet. Was able to order the replacement part on the bissel.com site today. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can start cleaning.

I've owned 2 previous upright Bisssell carpet cleaners which lasted for years as well as a compact green machine. This new Lift-Off system is the best by far. I have the power of the upright as well as the portability of the compact. I have a 4 bd room house with a Dog and Cat so I clean my carpets every 3 months. This machine as already cleaned my entire house 2 times since I purchased it late 2011. Easy to use and very lite. If there was one thing I would improve would be the cleaning solution tank size. Fantastic Machine

initially me and my significant other argued whether or not to buy the machine, but with kids and a dog we knew we needed something so we can do small and big jobs,when it comes to carpet cleaning, and after adding up what it costs to rent a carpet cleaner or even hire someone to clean our carpets, after 2-5 uses it will pay for itself, honestly i haven't used it yet since we purchased it but i am excited to be able to see how good it does work....

I have used Bissell carpet cleaners for many years and each one has had features that seemed to make clean up difficult. This one is so easy to use and so simple to take apart and clean. I am almost 70 years old and had no problem taking it apart. Thanks for such a great machine.

The assembly of the handle sounds easy enough - 4 screws. But these go directly through plastic and the placement of two of the screws is under the support handle. All 4 of the screw placements are at awkward angles and not beveled to accommodate a screwdriver. Once assembled the handle would not stay tight and the plastic stripped.
My prior cleaner was a Bissell and the concept of 2 in 1 with that caliber of cleaning is what made me interested in this unit.

We have 2 dogs, and this machine works great. It does just as good a job as the Rug Doctors you can rent from Home Depot. It does have a small resivior and fill tank, BUT when you calculate how much money and time you save by being able to get quality results from your OWN machine it makes it worth it. The portable cleaner is the true asset. To be able to clean your car, sofa, or small messes quickly is the best. When my friends have kids over I don't worry about spills anymore. Just pull out the porta unit and clean on the spot! Same with my pets messes on the rare occasion they happen. This machine will pay for itself in a year if you are the kind of person that likes to clean your carpets every 4 months or so. We usually get our carpets professionally cleaned every 6 months, and now with the Quality clean I have seen from this machine we will only be doing it when we move out.
The assembly is quick and easy. The machine is really not that loud compared to other QUALITY cleaners. It is light weight as well, so it does not strain your back. It moves easily over the carpet and mine were dry within hours after being finished as opposed to the 24 it takes when they are cleaned professionally.
When the machine is upright the brushes do not spin. This saves use on your belt! I like that! I see this machine lasting us a very long time.
But like with any new toy you need to read the manual and clean/maintain it after every use. We have to clean the fur out of the brushes because we have a long haired dog. If we don't the fur could build up and burn out the belt. This is something we have to do because of OUR house environment, not because it is a bad product. It is even a requirement for our vacuum. So remember to clean your brushes of excess debris before you put it away.

I used this product on tattered & worn carpet. It did not rejuvenate most of it but did clean well. The entire unit works much better than the stain portion.. I will be doing a rental next week and that should be an even better test

Iove my new lift off deep cleaner. especially the part that comes off and i can do the steps without carrying
the whole machine up the steps. My thanks to the engineers that designed the 2 machines in 1.
Also the cleaning solution seems to do a much better job then the other brands that I used use.

I have owned a Spot Bot for several years and could not do without it.
When I saw this machine with a removeable unit on it I could not say no.
I tried it the next day after it arrived and I could not be more satisfied.
Not only does it clean my carpet but it is easy to clean and store.
I recommend this to anyone.
Buy it today for all you household floor cleaning needs.

Who needs Stanley Steamer?
After seeing one in stores for some reason it right away had caught my eye. The thought of having a machines that could do the job of what two seperate machines could do the first thing that came to me was "SPACE SAVER". The overall design is just "EXCELLENT"
After I purchased my Bissell Lift Off Deep Cleaner I could not wait to use it. Especially after doing research and watching video's of the Bissell Lift Off in action. It totally out does any machine I have ever rented and I would say that it does just as good if not better than spending alot of money on having a pro do it for you. The Bissell Lift Off gets dirt and pet stains out far better than my old hoover. It's getting all the dirt my old hoover did'nt get. The ease of being able to clean all the parts that get dirty such as the Rollers, Extraction head and the dirt cup are far better than most I have delt with. The compact design of the Bissel Lift Off fits real nice in a corner of a room or closet without taking to much room. Would I recommend the Bissell Lift Off Deep Cleaner to a friend or neighbor?
WITHOUT THINKING TWICE I would highly recommend it. THANK YOU BISSELL for giving us a product that gets the job done right and gets it done right the first time. This is an EXCELLENT MACHINE for anyones home. Again thanks Bissell for this wonderful machine.

Fantastic cleaning system.
Worked better than I could have ever imagined!
But I guess waiting 15 years to clean carpet was a bit much!
But this machine did a fantastic job, with just one cleaning and one rinse.
I took pictures during cleaning...
The two piece design makes it easier to take to the basement for cleaning of that carpet also!

The machine needs some assembly. Two plastic parts of the handle need to have four screws installed. Problem is you can strip the plastic so that they can't hold the parts together. The resevoir of soapy liquid is installed UPSIDE DOWN on the machine. The reservoir is directly over the motor! The speed of moving over wet flooring to pickup the dirty fluid must be very SLOW to work properly. Sometimes, when the handle switch ejects soapy liquid small wet clumps of dirt are deposited on the rug. The motor must be on for a minute to heat the water. At the same time the sweepers are rapid rotating - is this ideal for the carpeting???

SUGGESTIONS:

3) More suction is always better (good suction as it is, though)

I have only had my machine for approximately 3 months and have only used it twice for heavy cleaning and some other testing, so far it's done a great job. It seems much more powerful than my older bissell cleaner.
I like the fact that it has heated water for both portable and combined operation. I think that the double row of twelve brushes does a great job of picking up more dirt and pet hair than my older model. I have done a comparison between my older machine which only has one row of six brushes, and I have to conclude that it does do a much better job overall. I went over a high traffic area which has never seemed to get really clean with my old machine, but the new machine made the carpet look new again.
The portable piece does as good a job as the Bissell's "little" line of portable wet vacuums. It is very good on stairs and is very light and maneuverable. I would give this this unit a separate rating of four stars, because I believe that the company could improve upon it's suction. Sometimes if the angle of the suction head is wrong the portable unit is less efficient at picking up the water completely.
I gave the combined machine an overall excellent rating, because I anticipate that I will get many years of reliable use out of this new model as I have from my older model, which still work and is used as a second floor backup. We'll see!!

I have 3 other Bissell shampooers and this one is tops. So convenient to lift off the pod to clean upholstery. I have rescued pets so there are always accidents of one nature or another, this Life-Off is the only way to go.

We pruchased Lift-Off just before Christmas to clean our carpet (just moved in about month earlier). The carpet didn't look that bad but we wanted to be able to keep it clean. We were amazed at how much dirt was removed because this is a cream colored carpet what came back in the tank was BLACK!!!!!!
The only con is the inlet nozzle is a bit fragile and takes some effort to clean, but would still recommend this cleaner

Although the carpet cleaner we had was still working I decided to purchase a Bissell after seeing their commercial on TV advertising the new deep cleaning system. The unit is easy to set up and easy to use. The instructions are easy to follow because of the straight forward design of the product. I am still satisfied after four months of use. We have 4 dogs so this cleaner has been used several times to date.

This unit cleans very well , haven't used the removeable spot cleaner yet. I like how unit can be taken apart and cleaned , only thing I had problem with is pet hair. It gathers up in clumps and chunks here and there will come out on the floor. I vaccumed really good before hand , either my vaccum isn't doing a good job anymore or this just shows this carpet cleaner cleans deep. I would recommend this unit.

I like everything about my Bissell Lift-Off, from its ease of operation to the way it makes my seventeen-year old carpet look nearly new again. And the pile has stayed fluffy. I thought it might be a temporary thing, but I guess there's something about the Scotchguard solution that makes the fibers stand up and salute. I have many stairs in my house, so the lift-off feature is a real plus. Also used it on an upholstered bench, that was pet stained, with great results. It requires a bit of disassembling to clean, but even that is simple. I'm also pleased about the hundreds of dollars I have saved over having a professional clean my carpet. It's already paid for itself.
