I have been reading the reviews on all the machines. I have done all my carpets twice and have had none of the problems these people seem to have. I love this machine and do recomend it all the time. It dose an excellent job of cleanning. Sucks dirt out of the carpet like it loves dirt. Too bad the water tank was not a little larger. I still give this machine a 5 star rating. No problems, no complaints. Congratulations on a excellent product.

prior to purchasing this particular unit i have owned 3 hoovers (1 vac and 2 deep carpet cleaners). after the hoover vac went out i decided to try a bissell and was more than satisfied. At that point i decided when the Hoover steam cleaner goes out i will try a bissell. Well we had the steam cleaners for a total of seven yrs with several problems. the attachments would break the motors went out and a host of other issues. i purchased another model bissell but after many reviews and much consideration i returned the machine without even opening the box. a week later we purchase this unit and put i to the test ans all i can say is WOW!!!! i also own the little green maching and have had that for 2 yrs and still WOW!! U go bissell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unhappy Total Lemon, went from clean carpet to a wet carpet with dirt spots
My mother in law had a Bissell Deep Cleaner that we borrowed once every few months. That machine worked well, so much so that we saved and saved to get one of our own. We even sprung for the "pet" version. When we went to clean our carpets yesterday, it sprayed and scrubbed fine, but barely pulled up any of the dirty water out of the carpet. As a result it left these dark spots where the dirty water settled and left the carpets soaking wet. I read all the troubleshooting tips. I reseated the dirty water tank took out the filters and reset the suction diverter and after several hours of messing with the darn machine we just got the same result. It is particularly annoying because we went to clean our carpets the day before we had out of town visitors and instead wound up with a carpet full of spots and an empty dirty water tank on the Bissell.

Just purchased from Lowes. I tried it out for the first time today. My only compliant is that the cord is to short. Some of the reviews state the cird is 22 long mine says 5' long. Also when clenaing my stairs, #two landing of them# the small brush that is include is not good for this type of cleaning. I killed my self cleaning with this tool because it was so small. I think that's ideal for spot cleaning. I owned a Bissell Pet 2x and it came with 3 different attachments. Why doesn't this one have the same? I;m thinking of returning back to Lowes. Other than that the machine works will. Not to good on stains you have to really scrub them. But really, what machine takes stains out. It's all about the product. Good design to clean. I like it better than the one with the bag in it..

Having to retire my old carpet cleaning machine proved a blessing in disguise because I replaced it with my first Bissell. I have had my Bissell Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Deep Cleaner for a least a month and chose to give it a good workout before rating it. My Shetland Sheepdog is a bundle of energy 24/7 and everything that grows in spring seems to get trapped in his thick long hair and feet when he’s playing outside. Dakota and the hair of 3 cats are a challenge for cleaning tools!
This model is great for cleaning carpeted stairs and for vehicles as well. My home is a tri-level and the extra long heavy-duty cord is perfect for accessing stairs. I can park the machine on the middle floor and reach both sets of stairs and hallway without moving it. This particular model appeared huge and heavy at first look, but it is no heavier to push than other machines and maneuvers just as well. I was cautious about choosing a 2-part machine with a small water tank, but It takes one click to release the tank and one trip to empty and refill at the same time and the unit has a flat surface to sit easily on a counter top. The lift-off feature is kinder to a bad back and worth making a few extra trips to refill for a large area. For me, the convenience of not having to lift and carry the whole machine up and down stairs is worth it. I love that this model heats the water and the Bissell cleaning products work well in removing stains from white carpet. The design is well thought out and the machine is well built with easy access to clean every part.
With all these “pros” the only “con” I can think of is having to carry the long cord with the lift-off unit for refills. The ONLY improvement I might suggest would be a retractable cord. However, if it were retractable, the necessary long cord would probably use too much space in the body of the portable unit, making it bulky.
I did my homework before buying the Bissell and it scored as one of the best on the market. Just one more comment. In reading the remarks of one lady who complained about having to pick up chunks of debris from under the machine: After using mine on newer carpet I understood what she was referring to and wanted to tell her that I don’t think it is the fault of the machine, but what often comes off of new thicker carpet. The machine does not pick up the fuzzy stuff. After all, it is not a vacuum cleaner. The annoying carpet fuzz just kind of collects in wet chunks on the floor and you have to pick it up. If you first vacuum well before cleaning I think that would taper off after a few cleanings.
All in all, I am very happy with my Bissell Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Deep Cleaner and would highly recommend it to anyone with carpeted stairs and/or pets.

This Cleaner is wonderful, It has the Versatility of a spot cleaner as well as a auto cleaner and a deep carpet cleaner. Now i rated this unit 3 stars due to it does need some improvment. the suction is a little weak but does the job. The Quality in deign is there, the matirials are not. Clean up is some what easy (well easier then it seems or looks) as long as you have a kitchen sink sprayer to spray stuff off. Over all it is a cheeper, lighter and versaltile (With less suction) alternitive to the Rug Doctor.

The first time I used the Deluxe was in a rental that just had the carpets steam cleaned from a local carpet cleaning company. My sons was moving in and since the house wasn't very old and the carpets were white I decided to see if my new Bissell would make any difference. Wow! The owners had a little black dog and I was amazed how much pet hair came up! The carpets were noticeably whiter! I couldn't believe how well it worked! A great machine!

I Had always used Hoover Carpet Cleaners in the past.
This new machine caught my eye while Christmas shopping. My friend was always borrowing my Hoover Carpet Cleaner so I decided to give it to him and buy The New Bissell Carpet Cleaner
The new Bissell has small tanks and the chemical tank doesn't last very long. My biggest complaint is the suction power. This machine does not extract the water from the carpets. After several times going over the carpets to try and get most of the water out , I ended up placing fans in the room to help dry the carpet. That was the first time I used My New Bissell Carpet machine and I believe it might be the last. The suction power is half of what my Hoover had. I guess this proves the old saying if something works why get something different.
I would not recommend this machine to anyone. I am sure that I will be going back to the Hoover.

we saw ads for this around the holidays in 2011 and wanted to buy one but couldn't find it anywhere. we were very glad to get a bissell email with the promotion of free shipping!
as usual bissell has built an excellent tool. we had alot of built in dirt and stains because we have a kirby shampooer which just shampoos the nap & not any deeper. it's like a dry foam that dries in 30 mins.
well after a couple of years of that, and doing cat rescue, we needed deeper cleaning, and this works great.
the only issues we have are (1) no way to use the machine without heating the water so it gets really steamy with the heat coming off the unit and out from under it, and (2) it has powerful action and pulls up alot of carpet fibers and dirt so the nozzle got very clogged as did the rollers and we had to diassemble after the first use, which was very hard. My husband is a mechanic and even he commented he needed to wash the pieces and get it back together quickly before he forgot how to because there were so many screws and parts.
we have yet to pop off the little unit because we already have a bissell YIKES which does the small places.
overall we are very pleased but would be happy to see a unit which can be taken apart and cleaned easier.

We haven't had the Deep Cleaner long, but it is going to be a huge help in keeping up with carpet that gets tramped on daily by two of us and four big muddy footed Labradors. It seems easy to use and does a great job of cleaning. The only drawback I see so far is the fiddly part of taking the cover off of the brushes to clean it after use. So far we are really pleased with the machine!

For the first time I am unhappy with a Bissell product. The power is great, but the design is bad. The hose is too short to reach the top of my furniture where my cats like to throw up.If you have pets you know you have a lot of hair and in order to clean all the hair out you have to completely unscrew all the parts of the machine to clean it. Also the recovery tank is very hard to empty and clean. If my 30 days with HSN were not up I would return it. The concept is great, but the design needs improvement.

I have seven rescue cats, 4 have long hair, and this machine lifted a ton of fur from rug! I did run sweeper first too. I also have a dog, with big feet that drag in tons of mud from yard, and rugs looks like new after cleaning. I am 72 and because I can separate parts easily can move wherever needed.

We have three dogs that tend to get in a lot of dirt.
Our carpet was really dirty by the time we got the cleaner so it really had a challenge. It took three times to really get the carpet clean but it did a great job.
The only problem was the instructions for cleaning the machine, (we have the one with the removable unit) was
a little unclear on how to get to some of the areas to clean. Also on the front where the clear plastic is over
the brushes I can not find a way to completely clean
all the dirt out. The opening is so narrow that I can't get anything in their and it has two little raised bars
are trapping the dirt. Flushing gets most out but not all.
Over all it is great

The machine cleaned the rugs and stains very well.
It was easy to use, and made the chore not as difficult as you may think.
On the down side, was cleaning of the machine after the rugs were finished. It was tough to get some pet hair out and trying to flush out the debris was not as easy as said to be.

Finally used the product this weekend. Have had a capret cleaner for several years. With two bichons in the house, there is a frequent need for cleaning my area rugs. Had a Hoover before, and replaced parts, but it finally started to leak too bad. It was always a WET process, anyway. I am surprised by how little water is involved in the Bissell process. Pet stains came up off a lite rug without pre-treating! The low profile carpets were almost dry by the time I finished. The only thing to be aware of is that the handle requires assembly to the body -- only four screws, but they are awkward. It just takes a little patience.

I got my Bissell about a month ago to replace a Hoover cleaner I had for several years and finally died. I am extremely impressed with the Bissell's cleaning ability and ease of operation. I did notice however that the fresh and dirty water tanks are smaller than I am used to and I had to refill/empty them several times to clean a 8 x 12 rug. If this short coming could be addressed, this would be a truly exceptional machine.

The Cleaner works great ! It is easy to use and cleans well. My frustration is with the initial unpacking - the description said it comes with the cleaning formula and the spray on stain remover, so I didn't order any. The cleaning formula was a tiny bottle that didn't even clean a whole room and the stain spray did not come with a spray nozzle. I ended up having to go to the store to get a large bottle of cleaner and new stain spray to get the nozzle. It would have been nice to know this in advance, so I didn't have to wait to use until after a trip to the store.

I got this product about a week ago, after borrowing a friend's carpet cleaner for a few weeks. Don't remember what type I borrowed, but the Bissell cleaned 3 times as well in a quarter of the time! Didn't have to spend a ton of time "spot" treating either. We own an English Bulldog who got very sick on the anethesia for a week after surgery, and let me tell you - this was a god send!

It was a little hard to assemble the handle, but then everything was easy. It got out all the stains left over from my pets. It sucked up all the water, so the carpets were dry in no time. I wish the water/formula tank was a little larger. I had to refill a few times for a medium size room. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this product. Especially pet owners.

I bought this product after having another brand for 15 yrs. I am VERY pleased with my decision. This cleaner really does deep clean and some old stains came right up. I vacuumed my carpet twice before using this and was amazed at all the carpet fiber that still came up. I won't wait so long in between cleanings anymore....this one does a great job. At first I thought from everyone's comments that the water tank would be really small but I found it to be adequate for the great job it does.....I refilled it 4x to do a big living/dining room...but my carpets were also filthy from not being done in over a yr! I am very happy with this cleaner and would highly recommend it....:)

I have bought bissell for 20years and I love them. We also bought a new vacuum the same day. I wish I could afford the one I really want which is the green machine. The only thing I don't like is the water tank is kind of small.

Bought this cleaner after owning many other deep cleaners in the past. Loving animals can be a messy job...especially if you have older dogs, puppies or cats with hairballs. This machine is awsome! Even worked wonders on some old stains with very little effort and eliminated odors.

I have 3 Dogs and 2 Cats, they are family. They destroyed my husbands sense of smell. They thrash my carpet. I have religiously rented the Doctor. I never imagined this product was all it stated and MORE!!! I HIGHLY recommend this product, it is cleaning beyond the Doctor!!!!
