I purchase this model 9595 at the end of August, I have already put 4 belts on this vacumn , I purchased 2 belts before I contacted Bissell and all they told me is to take it to a dealer to have it serviced, put money out for a sweeper and now I have to pay to fix it, put a belt on yesterday and vacumned my living room and get what it already broke, I think they need to redesign the belt or tell me what is wrong with there design, love the sweeper if we could get the belts to last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tony Great vacuum, but after a few months....
I have had this vacuum for several months now. I really liked the suction power and the on board attachments, especially the turbo tool. Worked great in picking up the cat hair. After a few months of great service, the latch that holds the purple cover closed does not engage any more. While at first I thought this was no big deal, it does matter. Without it being latched all the way, a complete seal is not made and I notice a very fine dust covering the vacuum which means it is also escaping out into the room. Not good.....I have tried to adjust it to no avail...at the moment, am very disappointed as I thought I finally found a good, inexpensive but reliable vac.

I own and have been using another expensive brand vacuum for about 9 years, and just couldn't deal with it any more. It was heavy and I live in a three level home so just carrying it up and down stairs was a lot. The vacuum bags were expensive, and I'd have to zip the bag holding area open and feel the vacuum bag to check to see if the bag was full. So after thinking it through I decided to try the BISSELL CleanView. It arrived just two days ago (October 1st, 2013) and I've found it to be a great product so far. It's light weight, the suction is great which I really was not expecting, so that was a pleasant surprise. The deep clean is in the suction and you can see the cleaning happening as the dirt collects in the dirt tank. The BISSELL CleanView is doing an excellent job cleaning my carpets and rugs. And I love the fact that I can see when the vacuum is full and need to be emptied. Just the fact that I don't have to purchase expensive vacuum bags any more makes this product worth the purchase. The power cord is a good length. And it's a wonderful idea having all the cleaning tools attached to the BISSELL CleanView so when needed they are right there. My only complaint would be that this vacuum does not have a designated carrying handle. But this is indeed a wonderful product.

I am extremely happy wih the product. the only thing it doesn't do is crushed ice. It's light enough and extremely efficient in keeping your house dust free. I highly recommend it.

I love the way this vacuum gets the constant mess on the floor however this darn belt doesn't stay on. Reading a other review I was worried about a different problem but my husband checked and that seemed fine. We are going to replace the belt but I am hoping it works. I liked how it cleaned.

Busy day but just had to take a few minutes for a review. I've had my CleanView for several weeks now, replacing a little red lightweight, which I loved till it finally stopped doing the job at all. I was ready for a mild upgrade and the CleanView won out. Am I glad!! Others have said this but I have to repeat: I was HORRIFIED at all the gunk in my carpet that the CleanView pulled up the first time I used it. (HORRIFIED in a "Thank God it's out now!" kind of way.) It's heavier than a true lightweight and I found I like the extra weight in the head - very easy to maneuver but feels solid. I just emptied the "tank" for the first time - super quick, super easy, super tidy. And I just used the TurboBrush for the first time to clean a newish fabric couch - dark couch, white longhaired cat - superb and quick. Yes, I'm raving. i'm a picky person and when I find something that really does the job for me I like to share the good news.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Old Ray Great Vacuum , but needs a couple fixes
This is a great vacuum with unique features and so far we like it very much. Since I'm 84 years old, there are three simple things that would make it even better. First: The cord is too short, maybe 6 or 8 feet longer would help considerably in our home. Second: I had to tape the cord up to the handle so I can easily manage it with my left hand while moving the vacuum with the right hand. This way I don't have to bend way down to pick it up. Third: The on/off switch should also be way higher on the handle as it is used quite often. Otherwise we're very satisfied with it, and it picks up dog hair very good, too. Might like it even a little bit better if it was made in USA. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Connieh5 Thank you!
We are new to owning a pet. We rescued a dog, Ollie, in May. The need for vacuuming has increased greatly, dog hair to dirt from his paws. Thank you for a nice quiet vacuum. I can carry it up and down the steps easily too to sweep bedrooms.
I like the turbo tool to vacuum Ollie's bed, that is quite handy.
The only thing I have found that I am not thrilled with is the cord, it isnt quite as long as our last vacuum and I have to unplug it and move from room to room now. With our previous one (Bissell too) I could plug into the hall and do all three bedrooms, this cord will not reach. Downstairs I could plug in and get the office and family room, again I have to move to another outlet.
Other than the cord, which I will get used to, I love this unit.

While I was deployed our vacuum broke, so my wife bought this one. Not even two weeks later the hose stopped working. She checked the hose for clogs and found none. I would not suggest this vacuum to others. Now that I am home she is asking about dyson vacuums, which I am not for, I like bissell but after this vacuum I don't know.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gerdie50 A Lighter, More Powerful Choice
This was my first CleanView vacuum. I had been purchasing the Powerforce for years, as I clean houses for a living.
I was reluctant to try something new but with 10% off and free shipping, i couldn't pass this up!
I have been using this vacuum for two months, now. Overall, I am quite delighted with it. It's much lighter and the suction power is amazing!
There are a few drawbacks. The attachment hose tends to slip out a lot, when in the upright position, even when I secure it. The reaching/ crevice tools are very short, which means I have to bend a lot more and have trouble reaching high places.
The upright position lever is stiff and I worry that the lever may snap, as Bissell vacuums are famous for this flaw!
Overall, the pluses outweigh the minuses. When I'm ready to replace this one (roughly, every 4 months), I will have a hard time choosing between the Powerforce and the CleanView.

For the price, you can't beat how this works. I decided to purchase this after reading reviews and I was deciding between this and a Dirt Devil. Due to reviews I went with this. I like it. I was looking for a not-so-expensive vacuum yet I still wanted something to help clean. I must say, I am not disappointed. I love the brush - the motorized brush. LOVE that attachment. Finally I can clean my stairs and furniture properly. It is a bit much to lug the vacuum on the stairs but, hey, they are getting clean and I'm thrilled. I purchased this one month ago and I have not had any issues. I have cleaned the filter once, although I should probably clean it on every other use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Peggy222 No good.
I have now had this vacuum for six months and I am not one to usually leave a review. However, when we went shopping for a new vacuum we found good reviews so based on that we purchased this vacuum. What a mistake! Today I was vacuuming on a wood floor and what I thought was a piece of dirt was a spider and the spider got away - the vacuum could not pick it up I had to go get a tissue and kill it. When I turn the vacuum on a puff of dust goes into the air every time even if I clean both the filters. When I empty the bin and start it back up the dust blown into the air is unbelievable. The Heppa filter will not stay in place since week two and is now being taped in place. We recently got a kitten and he is messy in the littler box which is on a wood floor. When I tried to vacuum it up I could feel it hitting my feet as it was being shot all over the place.

Great little vacuum for the price we payed for it. The only issues i have with it is the cord hook does not hold the cord, the cord needs to be a little longer, and there needs to be a way to keep the vacuun from falling over when i use the attatchments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by collector16 Good upright vacuum
I feel qualified to write this review now that I have had this machine for a few months. As a vacuum cleaner collector I have owned several Bissell vacuums over the years and I have usually been pretty satisfied with them.
Setup out of the box:
Assembly with this machine was fairly standard with the handle to be attached, along with a cord clip to snap in. Then the usual attaching of the tools to the machine and your ready to go!
General performance :
Carpet is where this machine is most at home, and as the name suggests it does pick up surface dirt in one pass. Embedded dirt however may take one or two passes more yet the amount of fine, sandy dirt picked up is very impressive especially for a vacuum of under one hundred dollars. Sadly hard floors is a different story and because this machine lacks a brush bar off function large particles can be spit around. The array of tools included with this machine I found adequate, although I wish the brush were softer for dusting purposes. The main problem I encountered was that the stretch hose tends to pull back due to the more than adequate suction coming through, not helped when using the crevice or turbo tools which restrict the air flow.
The machine is very easy to push and pull on both carpets and hard floors as long as the large height selector dial is set properly plus the weight in general isn't too heavy for a fully featured upright vacuum. And it's very quiet. Pity then that I found the hose too restrictive to be of much use for anything other than general upholstery and corner cleaning , cobwebs, dusty shelves, and high curtains stay sadly out of reach.
This brings me to another good point, the bin is significantly larger than similar vacuums and lets you go on longer without emptying. When the time comes though release is easy if not standard, a button near the bottom of the bin lets down the trap door and empties MOST of the dirt into the bin with a slight dust cloud to accompany it as with most bag less vacuums. Paper bags are better for this! And sadly this is not the last time you have to deal with the dirt. Press the release latch at the top of the bin and you will be greeted with a fairly dirty washable foam filter, which is easy enough to clean but I find that this needs to be cleaned almost every time due to this machine only having a single stage cyclone system. There is a higher end version which has a dual cyclone system which should keep the filter cleaner in use. There is also an exhaust HEPA rated filter which, unlike previous models from Bissell, is pretty well sealed. Bissell seems to have guaranteed that this filter will need to be replaced every year as the foam filter tends to let allot of fine dust through to the exhaust filter, which also raises questions as to future motor durability because of all the dust passing through.
The drive belt will need to be replaced periodically to keep the agitator working properly, and I wish Bissell would have used the method of clips to hold on the bottom plate. To access the belt six screws must be undone until the belt can be replaced in a similar manner to most upright vacuums. This could get annoying if the belt snaps in a situation where time is of the essence!
Aside from the oddly placed on/off switch and other various flaws I still like this vacuum and I intend to keep it. I would say it is a good value as long as you maintain it as it does generally perform better than other vacuums in the same class.
Thanks for reading!

In just the little area from my kitchen to my dining room the vacuum picked up so much dirt. I was amazed that the suction on the vacuum was so powerful to be such a lightweight product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CS589 Worked great.. for the first few months.
When we initially bought this vacuum four months ago, it worked really well. We have a big black lab, and it had no trouble picking up his hair. We also just purchased a new house, and this vacuum certainly put the previous owner's machine to shame. After a quick run through, we had two full canisters of dirt... so to me, it had quickly proven its worth. At that time, for the price, I WOULD have given it five stars.
I was sorely disappointed, however, when suddenly the brush stopped spinning. We took apart the vacuum and replaced the slipped belt. Unfortunately, five minutes after starting back up, the brush stopped spinning again.
After going through this game of take-it-apart-then-put-it-back-together just to have the machine consistently break, we decided to dig a little deeper.
The discovery? The motor mount wasn't firm, so the belt actually pulled on the motor shaft, which led to a new hole burnt in the plastic.
Seriously? After four months of (maybe) twice a week vacuuming in an area about 300 square feet, we have a vacuum with a melted motor mount? I wasn't expecting the vacuum to last forever, but this is ridiculous.
When I go back to the store to find a replacement, it definitely won't be a Bissell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by motorcyclist Best vacuum I've ever had...
The Bissell 9595 out-did the performance of other vacuums I've owned on the first use. Not much to complain about, gets everything out of the carpets, even on bare floors it works great. The after-filter housing could be easier to remove and replace, and the turbo-brush needs enough power to keep spinning when you touch it to upholstery or other carpet/fabrics. Even if you just barely touch a surface with the turbo-brush, it stops turning. Something like that needs it's own dedicated power supply, as the suction from the vacuum itself is not enough to keep it spinning, even with the slightest amount of pressure. The overall design is well done and it's easy to clean out and dump the canister. The Bissell 9595 pulled so much out of my carpet and bare floors the first use, that I had to clean out the canister after only a few minutes. No problem, though, as the design allows you to clean out and dump the canister quickly and easily. The height adjustment could be easier to change, also. Any issues I mentioned are not detrimental to the overall performance of the vacuum. It's quiet, enough that it doesn't bother my 2 cats at all...previous vacuums would have them running for cover. The cord is long enough for my 3-bedroom 1500 sq. ft. home. My sister had brought over her other-brand "ball" to vacuum the day before I got the Bissell 9595. The carpets looked clean, but the amount of stuff the Bissell vacuumed up the very next day was amazing. Full canister after only a few minutes. I think she might be buying a Bissell 9595 soon...

I bought this vacuum to replace a much larger and heavier vacuum.
The CleanView® Vacuum is much lighter and quieter while still picking up as much dirt as my old vacuum. It is well built. I like that the hose is not cheaply made.
My only dislike is that the electric cord is about 4 feet too short for my house.
Overall,I really like the CleanView® Vacuum and would highly recommend it .

Rated 2 out of 5 by UtesDad Good Price . . . Poor Construction
My wife and I purchased this vacuum after our previous vacuum of 9+ years finally kicked the bucket. We got it for a good price and it felt like we got a good value for our money. For the first month of using it, it worked great: good suction, easy to use, lightweight. We were excited to see how much more stuff this vacuum was picking up that our older one was leaving behind. But less than two months after purchasing it, the major hinge that swivels the base and upright portion broke, requiring a complete replacement of our vacuum. We were able to get a replacement vacuum at no cost, but it took 4 weeks to get! I'm crossing my fingers this second vacuum will last longer than 50 days.

This vacuum is wonderful. The OnePass Technology cuts your vacuuming time in half. We own this one and a Shark vacuum, and this is now our favorite. It wins as favorite because it has all of the tools on board and a cleaner method of emptying the dirt canister.
