Rated 4 out of 5 by Bullwick Very good vacuum for the money...
It has a modern attractive design and works very well. What's nice that many parts are washable a dryable. That saves a buck.
Too bad nobody came with a a design of the post-motor filter which would be also washable...People who designed this vacuum should have considered:
A) 2 switches - ,one for a brush, & another one for a vacuum motor
B) Position of the switch is too low for a pregnant women & the people with a bad back (37.857 % of potential US customers)
C) It would be nice, if your designers will come up with a cable clamp positioned near top, on side of the vacuum cleaner to hold the cord & prevent cord from getting caught by the brush...
It should be stressed - it works very well, but needs maintenance (cleaning). That's why some people claims it died out... It did not !!! Needs cleaning & it'll be just fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JCha It worked until it died
I unfortunately got this very same vacuum from a relative who bought it for me -cause I kept talking about how good my old Bissell vacuum was and how much I wanted this one- and it worked so wonderfully that I quickly felt in love with it until it died 14 days after I know it must of been a manufacturing defect. I know one product don't reflect the whole company but it's sad for me since is lost money. I wont be able to buy one for a while. the worse thing was that I trusted Bissell because I had bought an small vacuum for christmas and it worked wonderfully so I threw the box away!

This is my second appliance from Bissell in 3 months. This vacuum is lightweight, easy to use and assemble (2screws) and packs a powerful suction. Highly recommend.
My other Bissell is the carpet cleaner. Lightweight, easy to use and assemble and really CLEANS.
The liquid soap for the carpet cleaners is resonably priced and I highly recommend you stay with their products.
Although I first saw the cleaner on QVC,the demonstration was so convincing,I researched and purchase online with Bissell, shipping was free and quick delivery.
Very satisfied with these Bissell products, customer service and price.
Thank you Bissell!!

Picks up well but filters clog quickly and are messy to clean. We've had it about 6 months and my wife hates it. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jackie Picks up Cat Hair!
This vacuum cleaners works much better than what I owned before. I have several cats and had trouble getting the hair out of the carpet. Judging from what is in the canister, I know I am picking up more hair than ever. The only thing I would change is to have the on/off button closer to the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lorraine R Excellent Vacuum
I bought the pet 2X pro heat carpet cleaner, here on line and was amazed how well that worked. Needed a second vacuum for the third floor of my house. Macys had a sale, and I bought the 3918 Cleanview. I am so happy I got this vacuum, we have a Dyson downstairs "the animal" and I will say this Bissell 3918 has worked better than the Dyson. In my opinion, I was impressed. I had the same result, as another reviewer. A good amount of sand was picked up, I would say a good 2 cups, the rugs even feel cleaner add a little fabreze and the carpet smells a lot better too without dragging the shampoo carpet cleaner up two flights of stairs. I would recommend this machine to anyone. It is a good comparison to the Dyson in my opinion !

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mkonboz For the most part a good Vaccuum...one complaint
I received this vacuum as a gift for my wedding and I've been using it for about 3 months now. On carpets, I'd say it is amazing, picks up everything. I have a small area of hard floors that I try to use it on and it does not work well at all. It doesn't really pick up anything. Unless I'm doing it wrong (I use the lowest setting) I would like some sort of suggestion on how to make this work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by john972 Fantastic vacuum! Well worth the money! Cleans great!
I am disabled and use a power chair for getting around. I also have a dog, with short hair, who is constantly shedding. I take him for several long walks every day, with my power chair, so tend to drag a lot of dirt into my apartment. When I got the vacuum, it was very easy to put together. It has a nice long cord and I can plug it into my kitchen and am able to vacuum my small apartment. When I vacuumed my bedroom first, I was a little disappointed, because it did not seem to pick up much dirt. It did pick up a lot of dog hair though. When I went into the kitchen, to get to the living room, realized it was set on high carpet and I have low level loop carpet. It has 3 settings, high carpet, low carpet and bare floors. Once I set it on the low carpet setting and began vacuuming the living room, I was blown away! It was interesting watching the cyclonic action swirling around and listening to the sand continually being sucked up. It didn't take long and I was done and I could not believe how much sand it had gotten out of the carpet! There had to be a good 2 cups of sand and a lot of my dog's short hair and I only did an area about 4' x 10'. Was very easy to dump the dirt canister. The only thing I was surprised about, was it is not light. Either I am not very strong or it is quite heavy, so it does give you a little bit of a workout, but it is well worth it! I am assuming it contains more metal, to make it more durable and not so much lightweight plastic. I used the hose for the first time today, but not sure about it. It is a different type of hose than most vacuums and it will stretch out quite a bit, but then it pulls back so hard you have to hold the vacuum or it will tip over. I don't really need the hose and it stores nice on the vacuum, along with all of the attachments. I had an inexpensive vacuum, which lasted 20 years and did a decent job. It was lightweight, until the bag filled with dirt, then it was heavy. It gave me a lot of wear, but bit the dust, when I first moved to my current apartment 2 years ago. Have been trying to get by with a couple vacuums, which did not do a very good job. The other thing I liked was it is not near as noisy as most vacuums. I originally was going to purchase a Bissell "steam" cleaner, which I have done and also decided to buy a vacuum, from Bissell. I had a fantastic experience with a Bissell "steam" cleaner several years ago, which is why I went on the Bissell web site to purchase another one. While on their site I decided to buy a Bissell vacuum also. The "steam" cleaner sprays hot tap water, with the cleaning solution, into the carpet, scrubs it, then sucks it out, with all of the dirt. I was very satisfied with it, cleaned a lot of carpets, with it and even loaned it to a couple friends, to use. I was very impressed with it, which is why I wanted to stick to Bissell. Unfortunately the fan, which circulates the cleaner, froze up and the belt began to burn. I tried to fix it, but was in a hurry, because I was moving, so it is sitting in my storage now. I haven't tried the new Bissell cleaner yet, but am sure I will love it like the other one I had bought.
