We are cleaning my father in laws home. He had an accident and bleed on the shag carpet. The carpet was new, but it now has a 2' x 2' spot on it.

Answer: Be sure to look for a manufacturer’s cleanability code tag. Use on fabrics coded “WS” or “W”. If coded “X” or “S”, do not use.  Most shag rugs can be deep cleaned. Although, while dragging the deep cleaner over the shag rug, some spots may absorb more water than others and will become more wet than even pile carpet. Use a fan across the rug after deep cleaning to help dry for a couple of hours.

To remove the blood stains from the rug, spray OxyPro® to the stain to help remove the discoloration. Then follow up with a good deep cleaning, use 2X Professional Deep Cleaning formula or try any of our scented formulas with any of our upright deep cleaners.
