Our cat urinated on our sofa. How do we treat it?
Answer: Be sure to look for a manufacturer’s cleanability code tag. Use on fabrics coded “WS” or “W”. If coded “X” or “S”, do not use. Although, be sure not to over wet the fabric. Try deep cleaning with an upright deep cleaner’s upholstery brush and 2X Pet Stain & Odor Formula.
The best way to remove urine is to use a cleaner with active enzymes in it, like Pet Stain & Odor Pre-treat for Carpet & Upholstery. After testing the cleaner on an inconspicuous area, apply it on the stains, cover with a wet towel and allow the cleaner to work for 24-48 hours. If kept moist, the enzyme action within the spray will continue to multiply and “eat” the microscopic particles that make up the stain until they are virtually gone.
Follow up the spray cleaner by deep cleaning the area with a portable or upright deep cleaner’s upholstery hose and Pet Stain & Odor formula for portable deep cleaners or Pet Stain & Odor Advanced Formula Plus for upright deep cleaners.
