What is the best way to clean furniture fabric, like on a sofa, chair, etc?
Answer: There is an easy and effective way to treat fresh spills and set-in stains on upholstery.
Always test fabric
Be especially careful to follow label instructions when treating a stain on furniture upholstery. Pre-test an inconspicuous area of the fabric for color fastness, as some upholstery fabrics may be sensitive to water-based cleaning. Only use BISSELL sprays or machine-cleaning formulas on fabrics rated “W” or “W/S” on the label. Never use our cleaning products on fabrics rated “Dry Clean Only.”
Treat with an oxygen-based cleaning spray
Stains like wine, cola and juice can be treated with BISSELL OxyPro®. First, remove excess liquid or solid particles from the stain. Spray in a circular pattern, completely covering the stain. Do not rub it. Wait 5 minutes.
Have a deep cleaner?
If you have a deep cleaner, you can thoroughly clean and dry the soiled area with strong spray, scrubbing brushes and powerful suction. Upright deep cleaning machines have hose tools and attachments that can be used for cleaning furniture, while portable deep cleaners are designed for spot and stain cleaning on carpet and upholstery. Use a formula like BISSELL2X Fiber Cleansing formula in an upright deep cleaner, and one like BISSELL 2X Little Green formula in a portable deep cleaner.
Don’t have a deep cleaner?
Blot up the excess liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth. The stain fighters will continue to work after blotting. If the stain persists, repeat the treatment method.
