A red beverage was spilled on my light color Berber and I can’t get it out completely. I suspect it was red Mountain Dew. I used my floor steamer and the stains are still there. Any suggestions?
Answer: Just when you think your house is clean, the spilling bandit strikes again! There are several options for cleaning up spills—even red drinks like Mountain Dew.
Treat with an oxygen-based cleaning spray
Stains like wine, cola and juice can be treated with BISSELL OxyPro®. First, remove excess liquid or solid particles from the stain. Spray in a circular pattern, completely covering the stain. Do not rub it. Wait 5 minutes.
Have a deep cleaner?
If you have a deep cleaner, you can thoroughly clean and dry the soiled area with strong spray, scrubbing brushes and powerful suction. Upright deep cleaning machines have hose tools and attachments that can be used for cleaning furniture, while portable deep cleaners are designed for spot and stain cleaning on carpet and upholstery. Use a formula like BISSELL 2X Fiber Cleansing formula in an upright deep cleaner, and one like BISSELL 2X Little Green formula in a portable deep cleaner.
Don’t have a deep cleaner?
Blot up the excess liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth. The stain fighters will continue to work after blotting. If the stain persists, repeat the treatment method.
