Answer: You’re off to a good start by vacuuming up as much of the powder as possible, but you will have to follow that up with a pre-treatment and deep cleaner to remove the rest. Pre-treat the area with a solution like OxyPro®, as this oxygen-based spray is terrific for removing color from carpet fibers. After spraying the area thoroughly with OxyPro®, wait about five minutes and then deep clean the carpet using a machine like the ProHeat 2X® deep cleaneror Lift-Off® deep cleaner. You can use any BISSELL 2X deep cleaning formula in the deep cleaner, but for the best results I would recommend the 2X Professional deep cleaning formula. This formula has Scotchgard™, which will help color not to cling to your carpet fibers in the future – perhaps helping to control the damage from your children’s next science project.
