What’s the best way to get urine out of a mattress?
Answer: First, extract as much of the urine out of the mattress as possible using a portable deep cleaner like the Little Green® or the upholstery tool on an upright deep cleaner like theProHeat 2X® deep cleaner. Then, spray an enzyme-based cleaner like Pet Stain & Odor Pre-treat for Carpet & Upholstery on the mattress, place wet towels on top of it and cover with plastic wrap to keep the moisture in. The enzymes in the spray will continue to multiply and “eat” up organic material (like urine) as long as they have the moisture needed to stay active. Leave the mattress alone for 24-72 hours so the enzymes have plenty of time to work. If there is still some color left in the mattress, treat it with an oxygen-based cleaner likeOxyPro®. Finally, give the mattress one more deep cleaning treatment to help suction away any matter that might be remaining.
