Miracle Worker
Twenty-one-year-old Eva Lapin of Beverly Hills, Calif., suffered for three years with epilepsy. Her seizures were brought on by stress. She realized that browsing on Petfinder.com relaxed her. Then one evening, while browsing, magic struck.

Amazing Grace
The tiny kitten had been abandoned by his mother and hand fed until he was seven weeks old. Now he was getting a second chance. Lisa Driscoll, Virginia Beach, Va., saw the kitten on Petfinder.com, the largest online database of homeless pets, and contacted the rescue group, Pet Guardian, also in Virginia Beach, which had listed him on the site. She arranged to meet the kitty at his foster home.

Home Sweet Home
It didn't take long for Robin Cappelletti of Issaquah, Wash., to know what her new house was missing: a cat. And she knew just where to go to find one to adopt: Petfinder.com. With over 144,000 cats listed on the adoption Web site at any one time, it took Robin only 10 minutes to find the perfect one, even though she was specifically wanting a Torbie. (There are over 800 Torbies available on the site.)

Good Mews for Yogi
"When Yogi was only eight months old, he was found living in a rental house with fifteen cats and five dogs, all of them unaltered," says Colleen Angstadt of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. "When the landlord found out, he told the tenant either the animals go or you go." The tenant surrendered the pets to an animal control facility. Meadow's Spirit Cat Rescue "scooped up" Yogi and posted him on Petfinder.com.

Jack in Florida
On Thanksgiving Day 2007, my beloved 16-year-old Siamese cat Simon had to be euthanized for renal failure. This was devastating to me. The following Monday my co-workers urged me to check Petfinder.com, not in the view of replacing Simon, but in giving another cat a much-needed home.
