From: Dog Files
As nearly anyone who has adopted a dog or cat from a shelter can attest, there’s something special about a rescued pet; it’s as if the animal senses he’s been given a second chance at life. That’s certainly the case with Juno, a Belgian Malinois who was rescued from a shelter just days before she ...Read More

Good Dog! Good Cat!
Once in a while you meet someone who is impressive not just because they like the same things you like (think pets) but because they are working in the community to help promote change.
Steve Dale is that kinda guy. He's smart and talented and a good writer, but he's so many other things it's hard not to gush about him, given the chance. Of late, he's also an author of two new books, Good Dog! and Good Cat!
As a pet behaviorist, Steve makes it his duty to help pet parents understand why...Read More

PALs for Life
We are all judged by our compassion. We are all required to show compassion. We are less human when we cannot be compassionate to animals, as well as people. The picture should show more animals - horses, birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, wild animals, elephants, and farm animals. All creatures great and small.

Thursday Wood Floor Wake up
Oh boy, there are SO many new ways to wake up the staff these days. This morning Pugs and I discovered that if you run up the stairs at full speed you will make awesome creaky noises and awesome paw pounding noises. So, we played Chase the Black Cat and I chased Pugsley all over ...Read More

Tuesday Wake up
The staff has been very busy lately, thus my lack of posting. Paws can only do so much, ya know? The reason she’s been busy is something she keeps grumbling about – moving. The other day, she brought Pugsley and me to a new house, with new smells and lots of new fun places to ...Read More

Wake up Boing!
Sometimes, I have the good fortune of waking up the staff without even meaning to! This morning, I was patrolling the perimeter of the room and came across the cat toy I had forgotten exists: the boingie thing that sticks out of the wall. I started playing with it: Bat, boing! Bat, BOOOOOING! Bat, BOOOOOOOOOOING! ...Read More

The Puppy Bowl is this weekend!
February 4, 2012 at 7:58 AM
From: Inside the Pack
I have to admit, most of my household thinks the Puppy Bowl is more entertaining than the Super Bowl. My girls and I love this show! If one of the puppies starts barking, it even catches Loco's attention. This will be Rocky's first Puppy Bowl experience so I am looking forward to seeing what he thinks about puppies on TV. This adorable alternative to the big game features dozens of puppies from rescues and shelters playing with toys and against one another in a miniature football stadium. ...Read More

Rocky helps with remodeling project
February 4, 2012 at 7:58 AM
From: Inside the Pack
We are in the final stages of a small remodeling project at home to move the girls’ playroom downstairs and turn the room upstairs back into a dining room. This weekend all we had left to do was to paint and put the rooms back together. First we cleared everything left in the rooms. Without the furniture, I realized that I need to clean my carpet more regularly now that we have two dogs! There was a clear dirt path through the upstairs room and mystery stains in the basement. I know...Read More

Loco welcomes visitors to BISSELL with kisses
February 4, 2012 at 7:58 AM
From: Inside the Pack
I think I may have had one of my most embarrassing work moments ever today… Both Loco and Rocky are working with me in the Pet Spot and we had some visitors stop by. These were not just ordinary visitors, but a group that included our company executives as well as executives from one of our top customers. I was asked to tell them a little about the Pet Spot. I often speak about all the different ways we use the area, however today while I was talking, Loco proceeded to jump up and give...Read More
