How do I know if the filter is inserted correctly on my Steam & Sweep?
Answer: We’re sorry you are experiencing difficulty with installation of your filter or leaking between the filter & body of the machine. Please follow the steps below to ensure your filter is installed correctly & that your filter is in optimal condition.
Please do not use vinegar or other cleaning solutions in your steam product. Use of demineralized or distilled water is recommended for optimal performance. Ambient tap water can also be used in your steam product.
Please unplug the machine & power it off before proceeding:
• Before inserting the filter into the body of the machine, check the male connector to ensure that the rubber ‘o’ shaped gasket is not missing. If it is missing, check the receiver area on the body of the machine to ensure it is not lodged inside.
• Unplug the machine, and try to remove the broken piece from the receiver by using a tiny screwdriver. If you cannot remove the piece, please take your unit to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center.
• Check the filter for any cracks or damage. If cracks or pitting is present, a new filter will need to be ordered. Please visit www.bissell.com/parts to place an order.
If you continue to experience difficulty with your filter, please contact a BISSELL Authorized Service Center in your area. To locate a BISSELL Authorized Service Center, visit http://www.bissell.com/service-centers/. Enter you zip code in the Service Center box to perform the search.
