PurePro® - Trilogy® - Triple Clean Professional™ - OptiClean® - will not suction.
Answer: No/Low Suction:
1) Check the dirt cup to ensure it is empty.
2) Check the pre-motor and Hepa Media Filter* for debris. Dirty filters can restrict airflow. The pre-motor filter may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Reinstall the filter when it is completely dry. The HEPA Media Filter* needs to be replaced and cannot be washed.
Pre-Motor Filter – Filter found in drawer below the dirt container.
HEPA Media Filter* – To access the HEPA Media Filter* the vacuum must be detented. The HEPA Media Filter* case can be found below the Pre-Motor filter drawer. Push the frame button down where it says “push” and pull out the frame.
3) Check for GOOD suction at the end of the upholstery hose. If there is good suction, check the following:
a) Make sure the hose is firmly seated into the hose base. If the hose is NOT seated firmly, there will not be suction at the floor.
b) Check from suction at hose base with hose removed. If there is no suction, there is a possible clog in the lower hose.
c) Check to see if the brush is turning.
NOTE: The brush will NOT ROTATE UNLESS both the power and brush buttons are in the “l” on position. It will also not rotate when the machine is locked in the UPRIGHT position because an internal micro-switch turns the brush motor off.
If there is NOT good suction at the end of the hose, check the following:
a) Check for suction where the hose connects to the base by twisting the hose connection towards the left.
If there is no suction at this dirt intake, the machine will need to be inspected at a local Service Center.
If there IS suction at this dirt intake, check the hose for cracks or splits. It is possible the hose may also be clogged.
CLEARING CLOGS
1) Empty the dirt cup.
2) Remove the dirt cup and clear the area around it. Clean the screen (Screen can be removed from unit).
UPPER HOSE CLOG
a) Detach the hose from the machine by twisting hose collar to the left. Push a broomstick into the hose to push any obstruction to the end of the hose where it can be removed.
Note: A coat hanger is not recommended to clear a clog, as it may damage the hose.
LOWER HOSE CLOG
a) Recline the unit and roll it over so the backside is facing up. Remove 1 screw at hose wand base. Straighten the foot hose. Look through the hose for obstructions.
Push a broomstick through lower hose to unclog. (Any obstruction should exit through the suction path at the brush roll).
