PurePro® - Trilogy® - TripleClean Professional® - OptiClean® - brush not rotating.
Answer: If your machine brush roller is not rotating, please check the following:
Note: The brush will NOT ROTATE UNLESS both the power and brush buttons are in the “l” on position. Also, the brush will NOT ROTATE WHEN the unit is locked in the UPRIGHT position because an internal micro-switch turns the brush motor off.
- If you have suctioned something such as an area rug and it is stuck in the brush, with enough resistance, the brush will stop rotating. This is a safety feature that eliminates belt breakage. Proceed by turning the unit off, unplugging the machine and removing the obstruction. Turning the unit back on will reset the machine.
Before proceeding, turn unit off and unplug it.
- Turn the brush by hand. Recline the unit and roll it over so the backside is facing up. Remove 6 screws holding the access plate in place. Remove the access plate. Try to turn the brush by hand. If brush does not turn, the brush roll needs to be replaced. Check for any brush housing damage or to see if the brush belt is broken. If there is damage to the brush housing refer to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center. The belt can be ordered online at Parts and Supplies.
If you continue to experience difficulty with the machine brush roller and would like this to be inspected, take this to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center. The warranty on your machine is three years. To locate your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center, click here.
