The brush on my Lift-Off® Vacuum isn't rotating. What should I check?

Answer: Please note: The brush will not rotate when the unit is locked in the upright position because an internal switch turns the brush motor off.

1. First, make sure both the power switch and the brush switch (located on top of the Lift-Off® canister) are turned on.

2. Check that the canister is seated properly on the base of the unit.

3. Try unscrewing the access plate, a black plastic plate on the underside of the base, and check the brush and belt for damage. Clean off any debris on the brush. If brush won’t turn by hand or the belt is broken, you can replace the belt by clicking here: http://www.bissell.com/parts/?sc=part&productid=2437&partid=4686

4. If the brush still isn't turning, please take your vacuum to a technician. You can find your nearest BISSELL® Authorized Service Center by clicking http://www.bissell.com/service-centers/ or by calling 1-800-237-7691, available 24 hours a day.
