My BISSELL Cleanview Bagless vacuum will not suction properly. What can I check?
Answer: The BISSELL Cleanview Bagless vacuum has strong suction power to keep your environment healthier and cleaner. BISSELL bagless vacuums will pick up accumulated dirt and debris that may have been left from previous cleanings.
To keep the machine suctioning properly, this accumulation of dirt and debris must be cleaned from the filters frequently. The CleanView has 3 filters: the square pre-motor filter (located on the slide-out tray below the dirt canister), the round upper-tank filter (located in the upper-tank assembly), and the rectangular post-motor filter (located in the compartment on the side of the machine). Each of the filters on the CleanView can be removed and cleaned. The black filters are washable. Allow the washable filters to dry completely before replacing. The white HEPA Media filter* is not washable.
Dirt can be removed from this filter by gently tapping it against a hard surface. Replace this HEPA Media filter* every 3-6 months. Frequent cleaning of all three filters is important to the proper maintenance of your machine. In BISSELL Bagless machines, the dirt travels through the hose to the dirt cup. It is important to keep the hose clean to allow proper air flow. To check for possible clogs, remove the upholstery hose from the back of the machine. Insert a broom stick handle in one end of the hose, pushing any clog or debris through. At the foot of the machine is a small curved hose. Release the screw holding this hose in place and remove any dirt.
These maintenance steps provide you a strong suctioning machine in order to keep your environment clean and healthy without the extra expense of purchasing replacement bags. If these suggestions do not solve the suction problem for you, please check the following: -Empty the dirt cup and check to ensure it is installed properly with the Lock 'N Seal Lever in the locked position. -Remove the access plate on the bottom of the unit and check the brush and brush belt to ensure they are in working order. Clean any string or debris that may have collected around the brush and check the air-path opening behind the brush for clogs. -Remove the Upper Tank Assembly to check for clogs. The upper-tank can be removed by turning the "key" in the back of the unit and then pulling the upper-tank assembly out from the front.
