My Spot Lifter is leaking out of the side vents. Is this normal?

Answer: The vents are on the machine to protect the motor from water damage. Water could be leaking if the Collection Tank is too full, if the machine is being used in a vertical position, or if the machine is being shaken while scrubbing the stain. When using the Spot Lifter, always keep it horizontal to the surface you are cleaning. For especially stubborn stains, you can remove the scrub brush and use it separately from the machine for a more vigorous scrubbing.
